We are a bunch of young actors that all met at the Schreiber school. We decided to stay in Tel Aviv and start a company of our own. We’re trying to make theater that is fun, good, different and unique.

We’ve been around for about 4 years now, and we’ve done a few shows, all original – “Stupid Children” (based on “The Stupid Children” by Asaph Polonsky), “Golem” (based on “Der Golem” by Gustav Meyrink) and “Hitchcock’s Psycho”, an adaptation for the stage of the famous movie by Alfred Hitchcock.

Schreiber, who was in Los Angeles this week to promote his new Showtime series “Ray Donovan,” said that while he loved doing theater and would always be interested, it would have to be a special role.

“The only thing I could do is something like ‘Doubt’ or ‘A View From the Bridge,’ ” Schreiber said, referring to two plays he did at the Manhattan Theatre Club. “It would have to be something that I didn’t feel like I had a handle on.”

Manhattan Theatre Club is the company he worked with on those two plays, and one of the country’s most respected regional theaters. The Roundabout has also been mentioned as a possibility.

As for why he doesn’t do more film work, Schreiber β€” who recently completed two films for Lionsgate β€” said it was about protecting his family life. He has two children with his partner Naomi Watts and splits his time between New York and Los Angeles.

“I’m not really interested in being away from my kids,” Schreiber said. “If they were older I’d consider it, but they’re not.”
