Helena Bonham Carter is a London actress who plays Bellatrix Lestrange. She was born in 1966 and grew up in Golders Green, London. She attended South Hampstead High School and in her early years was a punk rocker. She has won two Golden Globes, one for the BBC television film The Wings of the Dove, and one for The King’s Speech. Her other work includes A Room With A View (1985), The Madness Of King George (1994) and Planet Of The Apes (2001) and most recently Alice Through The Looking Glass (2016).

She has been nominated for three Academy Awards – twice for Best Actress in a Leading Role, for Howards End (1992) and The Wings of the Dove (1997), and once for Best Actress in a Supporting Role, for The King’s Speech (2010).

Bellatrix Lestrange is a fictional character in J. K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series. She is portrayed as a sadistic and ruthless Death Eater, the Dark Lord Voldemort’s most loyal servant and right-hand enforcer, and serves as the secondary antagonist of the series; she is one of the main antagonists of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, and the final antagonist of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

She was created by J. K. Rowling, who has said that Bellatrix is one of her favourite characters in the series.[1] She also created Dementors as an embodiment of her own depression.[2]

Bellatrix Lestrange was born to Cygnus Black III and Druella Rosier. She had two older sisters: Andromeda Tonks, née Black (née Black), who married Muggle-born Ted Tonks;[3] and Narcissa Malfoy, née Black, who was wed to Lucius Malfoy.[4] She also had a younger brother called Sirius Black II, a cousin named Nymphadora Tonks, an uncle called Sirius Black I, an aunt named Walburga Black,[5] who married Orion

Helena Bonham Carter was born on May 26, 1966 in Golders Green, London. She is the daughter of Elena Propper de Callejon and Raymond Bonham Carter, a merchant banker. Her ancestry includes Russian Jewish (from her maternal grandfather) and Spanish (from her maternal grandmother).

Growing up in a family filled with actors, Helena knew from a young age that she would become an actress herself. When she was just five years old, she made her very first film appearance in A Pattern of Roses (1983), starring her mother as well as Sir Laurence Olivier. Helena appeared again with Olivier in Lady Jane (1985).

Helena began attending acting classes at the age of 16, and attended the Central School for Speech and Drama before pursuing a professional career.

Helena’s first major film role came in the Merchant-Ivory production A Room with a View (1985), playing Lucy Honeychurch alongside Daniel Day-Lewis and Dame Maggie Smith. She then went on to star opposite Tim Roth in Vincent & Theo (1990) before working with Robert De Niro and Al Pacino in Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein (1994).

In a scene of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, the Ministry of Magic calls on Bellatrix to interrogate Harry Potter, who had been accused of using magic outside of school.

In 2009, The New York Times called her “the most malicious of Voldemort’s henchmen”, while IGN listed her as the third top Harry Potter villain (behind Voldemort and Lucius Malfoy), calling her “a great mix of wits and insane ruthlessness.” She also made Yahoo!’s list of top ten villains, stating that she “always has a few choice words for someone who disagrees with her.”

Bellatrix Lestrange (b. 9 December, 1951), a pure-blood witch, was the eldest daughter of Cygnus and Druella Black (née Rosier), younger sister of Andromeda Tonks and Narcissa Malfoy, and older sister of Sirius and Regulus Black. She attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry from 1963-1970 and was Sorted in Slytherin house. Bellatrix’s wand was 12″, Unicorn Hair.

During her life, she became a Death Eater in 1970, and later followed Lord Voldemort when he returned to power in 1995. She fought in both the First and Second Wizarding Wars, before dying at the end of the latter at the hands of her cousin Molly Weasley.

Bellatrix married Rodolphus Lestrange; they had one child together: Delphini.
