Our Top Picks for Beach Towels
If you’re headed to the beach this season, make sure you’ve got a great beach towel to bring along! We know it’s easy to grab an old towel from your linen closet, but these aren’t like the towels you use at home. These towels are larger and more absorbent than standard towels and most have fun designs that make them perfect for relaxing in the sun.
We researched dozens of beach towels available on the market today and found there are several things to consider when selecting one. We looked at size, material, absorbency, price and more and narrowed our selection down to five of the top-rated towels for summertime fun.
Top Pick: Frette Hotel Collection Bath Towel
The Frette Hotel Collection Bath Towel is a premium quality towel that’s made from 100% long-staple Turkish cotton. This luxury bath towel is made with care by a brand that has been in business since 1860, so you can feel confident in its durability. You can select this plush towel in white or gray and it’s available in three different sizes – small (30″ x 55″), medium (35″ x 70″) or large (40″ x 70″). It’s made using long-staple Turkish cotton
But it is the beach towel that makes a day at the beach possible. This is the essential item-the first thing you look for when you pack your bag, and the last thing you take out when you return home.
You can do a lot with a beach towel. You can lie on it, dry off with it, or use it to shade your face while you nap in the sun. A beach towel can also be used as a blanket or picnic cloth, or a makeshift tent. With a bit of ingenuity, you can even make a beach towel into a swimming suit, or even something resembling a dress.
If you are stranded on an island and all you have is a beach towel and your wits, you should be able to survive for months, if not years. Beach towels are one of mankind’s greatest inventions-a versatile, durable product that is affordable for anyone.
After Actors is a blog about actors after they’re dead.
The blog began with the intent to profile one actor’s death every day, in chronological order.
So far I’ve profiled:
Humphrey Bogart, Laurence Olivier, Rita Hayworth, Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, and Frank Sinatra.
I’ve always been fascinated by celebrity death. I’m not sure why. It’s morbid but interesting.
Sometimes my fascination takes the form of being completely absorbed by a biography of someone who has died young. Usually it will be just a brief mention in a magazine or newspaper that will catch my attention and bring me to tears. The idea for this blog came from a combination of these two sources: an interest in the macabre and an interest in the lives of celebrities. And I thought: what better way to combine these interests than by writing about dead actors?
The first time I ever appeared on stage was in my high school play, West Side Story. I played an understudy for one of the actors who had to leave for a week to do another production. I remember my high school drama teacher calling me in and telling me I would be taking over for this person for the next several performances.
I remember it pretty vividly because I was so nervous that my hands were shaking when he told me. I couldn’t believe it! But it turned out great and the audience loved me, even though they had never seen me before. It was such a rush!
That experience got me hooked on acting and I decided to pursue it as a career. Since then, I’ve been in over 50 different productions, ranging from movies to short films to commercials and TV shows. If you’re an aspiring actor or actress, here’s some advice:
1) Don’t focus too much on landing the lead role right away. You have to start somewhere and that means working your way up from small parts all the way up until you finally land something big enough where people recognize you.
2) Be prepared for rejection! There are thousands of people just like you who want to make it big in Hollywood so don’t take it personally if someone
Actors are primarily people who act. The rest is superfluous:
“I’m not a movie star. I’m an actor. Being a movie star is a temporary thing. Being an actor is what I do.” —Harrison Ford
Actors are not primarily celebrities, or entertainers, or artists. They’re not even particularly performers. They act, which means they do things other than acting, like playing sports or going to school or fighting crime at night. And when they do those things, they don’t do them as actors:
“I guess you can say I’m a reluctant celebrity.” —Harrison Ford
Actors aren’t even necessarily people who play roles that are particularly dramatic: the characters they play can be funny, sad, scary, tense, sexy—or any combination thereof. But the one thing their roles have in common is that they involve doing something:
“I love being an actor but I don’t like being a celebrity.” —Harrison Ford
Some actors may prefer not to be called actors at all. In fact, some of them might prefer to be called “celebrities” instead! Others might prefer to be called “actors” rather than “celebrities”. Still others might prefer to be called
