Partner With Dream.US To Achieve Your Education Goals
The Cost of Education is a significant challenge for many students. Every year, thousands of undocumented students graduate from high school ready to pursue their education in college but are not eligible for federal student aid or state-funded financial aid. They are hardworking students who want to attend college like their classmates but they don’t have access to the same resources.
But there’s some good news: There is now a new scholarship program for undocumented high school graduates and DACA recipients that will help them pay the full cost of tuition at partner colleges throughout the country!
TheDream.US is a national scholarship fund for DREAMers that helps cover tuition costs at one of more than 75 partner colleges in 15 states and Washington, D.C. For more information about this amazing new opportunity and how to apply, visit TheDream.US website or check out their Facebook page.

College is expensive. Most students take out loans to help pay for their education, but that leaves a lot of students with unmanageable debt once they graduate. The average student loan debt in the U.S. is about $40,000 per borrower and as of 2017, there are 44 million Americans carrying a total of $1.4 trillion in student loan debt — the second largest consumer debt category in the country after mortgages.
Many undocumented students can’t apply for federal financial aid because of their immigration status, making college incredibly difficult to afford out-of-pocket and often making it impossible to achieve their dream of higher education. That’s why we created our scholarship program: to give deserving students access to an affordable quality college education at one of our Partner Colleges and help them achieve their dreams.
While the California Dream Act has made it possible for undocumented students to apply for state financial aid, many are still unable to pay their full tuition costs. We partner with TheDream.US, the nation’s largest college access and success program for DREAMers, to help you achieve your education goals.
TheDream.US offers scholarships of up to $33,000 to cover the difference between what financial aid covers and the actual cost of tuition at our partner colleges. Students can apply for scholarships at any of the 75+ partner colleges across 15 states and Washington, DC.
To be eligible for a scholarship through TheDream.US, you must:
– Be a DACA or TPS recipient
– Be a graduate of a US high school or have earned a GED in the US
– Have significant unmet financial need (estimated family contribution less than $6,000)
– Have earned at least 15 transferable college credits after high school graduation or GED completion
– Plan to enroll full time in an associate or bachelor’s degree program at one of TheDream.US partner colleges
– Not have been enrolled in college prior to fall 2012
It’s not too late to apply for the California Dream Act! You can still submit your 2016-17 FAFSA or California Dream Act application.
The Dream.US Scholarship provided me with an opportunity to pursue my dreams of attending San Francisco State University and earning a degree in Psychology. The assistance I received from the Dream.US Scholarship was instrumental in helping me reach my goal of becoming the first college graduate in my entire family.
I am passionate about education and want to make sure that other students have access to higher education, regardless of their immigration status, so they can reach their full potential. I currently volunteer at City College of San Francisco where I help undocumented students complete the California Dream Act application and guide them through the process of applying for financial aid. It is my honor to be part of a community that helps undocumented students thrive and achieve their goals.
I am grateful for the Dream.US Scholarship because it allows me to focus on what is most important – getting an education.
Students who are eligible for TheDream.US Scholarship have an opportunity to change the course of their lives. They have a chance to earn a Bachelor’s degree at one of our partner colleges and universities across the country.

Congratulations on your admission to a college or university! You’re almost there. Now that you’ve been admitted, it’s time to apply for financial aid and scholarships. There are many resources available to help you afford the cost of your education. The California Dream Act is a set of bills (AB130 and AB131) that allow undocumented students who have attended a California high school for at least three years and graduated or received their GED to apply for:
● state-funded financial aid (such as Cal Grants, Chafee Grants, etc.).
● institutional financial aid (grants, scholarships, fee waivers, etc.) awarded by public colleges.
How many students are affected? The Institute for College Access & Success estimates that an estimated 2.4 million undocumented students live in the United States. Of those, almost 200,000 live in California. Many of these students will not be eligible for federal financial aid programs because they do not have U.S. citizenship or permanent residency status.
The goal of the Dream Act is to provide undocumented students with equal access to higher education regardless of immigration status.
