Walter White was born on September 7, 1958. He was an American actor, producer, and director. He is known for his role as the main character Walter White in the hit AMC show Breaking Bad.
He is also known for his role as Dr. Tim Whatley on the NBC sitcom Seinfeld, and Mike Ehrmantraut in the AMC crime drama series Breaking Bad and its spin-off Better Call Saul, where he received critical acclaim for his role as a former Philadelphia police officer who works as a parking attendant, private investigator and head of security for a strip club.
He also appeared in a recurring role on Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman as the villainous drug lord and arms dealer Tempus. He has appeared in over 80 films and television shows since 1985.
He has received seven Emmy Award nominations: four for playing “Walter White” in Breaking Bad and three for playing “Mike Ehrmantraut” in Better Call Saul. At some point during his childhood or teenage years, Walt developed an interest in chemistry. Despite that, he moved to New Mexico to live with his aunt and uncle due to financial troubles at home. While there, Walt met a young pregnant woman named Gretchen Schwartz and they fell deeply in love. Cranston was born in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California. His mother, Audrey Peggy Sell, was a radio actress; his father, Joseph Louis “Joe” Cranston (1929–2014), was an actor and former amateur boxer. Cranston was raised partly by his grandparents, living on their poultry farm in the Canoga Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. His father was of Austrian-Jewish and Irish descent and his mother was of German descent. He has an older brother, Kyle and a younger sister, Amy.
