It’s not an exaggeration of who you are and it’s not a glamour shot. It’s a shot that shows the real you and it’s flattering. The photo should make the casting director want to meet you and learn more about what you bring to the table.

If you don’t have a headshot, then you need to get one before going out on auditions. As a matter of fact, if your headshot is more than a couple of years old, then it needs to be updated because your look could have changed dramatically in that time frame.

The casting director needs to see what your hair looks like now and how much weight (or lack thereof) you’ve gained or lost since the photo was taken. You want to make sure that the current shot looks exactly like what the casting director will see when they meet with you in person for an audition

Commercials are largely about selling a product or service to customers by appealing to their emotions. And there’s no better way to connect with someone on an emotional level than by being personable and communicating effectively.

It’s not only important for actors to be able to communicate effectively with casting directors, but also with other actors during auditions and filming sessions. In 2003, an estimated $134 billion was spent worldwide on advertising. With more than $40 billion of this figure being generated from television commercials.
