It turns out that having a great agent is crucial! The best agents are like this:
They get you auditions. They submit your headshots and resumes to casting directors. They call and email casting directors with reminders about seeing you at auditions.
They coach you. The best agents know what kind of roles you should go out for. They can tell you if your headshots look like you or if your resume has too many typos (mine did).
They negotiate contracts. The best agents can get you more money or more vacation days or both!
They protect you from predators and scam artists who would love to take advantage of new actors and models who don’t know any better.

Next, consider joining a local theater company or community theater as a member of their ensemble. This will give you some experience on stage and allow you to learn more about what it takes to perform live in front of an audience.
Also think about taking some singing lessons with a voice coach if you plan on pursuing musical theater. An agent is not going to take you seriously if she hears your voice crack during your audition for “Phantom of the Opera.”

How to become a good actor?
Nobody wants to hear about your childhood, and nobody wants to hear that you love acting. And do not tell them how much you really want it, they will smell desperation from a mile away. If you really want to know how to act professionally, then learn to fit in. You could have the best acting skills in the world but if you cannot get along with others then it is not going to work out for you. Most casting directors need actors who can fit into the role that they are working on and if you cannot work well with others then do not expect them to hire you. The best advice I can give is that before auditioning for any part, make sure that you study your character well before hand so that whatever happens during the auditioning process, you at least show up prepared.

The first thing that you should remember when learning how to act professionally is that no matter how talented you may be, there will always be someone better than you. In this business there is always room for improvement and once you have found something that works for you stick with it until it becomes second nature. Also remember that casting directors are looking for actors who fit the part so make sure that

If you’re lucky, your first acting job will be a meaningful role in a popular television show or film. But don’t expect that to happen right away – and don’t let it discourage you.
