How to Apply Makeup
As a professional makeup artist, I have met many actresses and celebrities. All of them have their own routine, but all have one thing in common: a desire to look good. To help you achieve the same effect that they do, here are some of my best tips for applying makeup.
1. Blend the foundation into your skin. This will give your skin a more natural appearance and prevent “caking” around the edges of your face.
2. Use powder to set your makeup and make it last longer.
3. Use eye shadow to bring out the color in your eyes. The color doesn’t have to match; if you wear blue eyeshadow with green eyes, for example, it can make them appear greener!
4. Apply mascara to make your eyelashes pop! If you’re going for drama, use a waterproof formula so that it won’t smudge or run if you cry (or just sweat a lot). This can also be helpful if you want an intense look without using fake eyelashes or extensions – just apply one coat each day until desired length is reached then stop using it altogether!

The secret to great makeup is a perfect foundation. If you have good skin, then only use a small amount of foundation to cover any small blemishes, but if you have troublesome skin, then choose a foundation that suits your skin type and will give medium to full coverage. Make sure you blend it in well with a sponge or brush and set with powder, otherwise it will melt away.
When it comes to eyeshadow, always start with an eyeshadow primer. It prevents creasing and makes the color last longer on the lid. I prefer to use dark shades on the outer corners of the eyes, and light shades in the middle of the lid. I also like to add metallic accent colors, like gold or silver, in the inner corners of the eyes for added sparkle and interest.
Don’t forget your eyebrows! They are very important in creating shape and definition of your face so make sure you fill them in with an eyebrow pencil/powder that matches your hair color.
