This is a blog about acting. I will give tips on how to become an actor and how to become successful in acting.
I am new to New York City and trying to make my name known as an actor. This has been a very challenging but rewarding experience. Hopefully I can share what I know with you and you can learn from me.

How to be a Successful Actor in NYC
Friday, January 25th, 2013
Hello everyone! I hope all is well with you. I wanted to write this week about how to be a successful actor in NYC. There are lots of questions and answers out there, but here’s mine:
Do you have a way to support yourself? Do you have money saved up so that you can pay your rent and bills for at least a year? Do you have a job that pays the bills? If not, get one or get some money together so that you can survive while you pursue your dream. This is not rocket science. It’s simple math: if you don’t eat or have a place to live, it’s going to be hard to do anything else. Don’t worry about making ends meet during this time; just worry about getting by. That will help reduce the panic of having $2500+ coming
I have always wanted to be an actor. I am a committed theater artist and I love telling stories. I love to entertain people, make them laugh and cry, and hopefully make them think.
I moved to NYC a year ago with the hope of becoming a successful actor. I have been auditioning a lot but it is very hard to land a job here in this competitive city. I am acting regularly but not often enough to support myself financially.
I am currently taking acting classes at HB Studios. I have been working with professional writers and directors as well as other talented actors, who are also struggling to make it as actors in NYC like me.
I would like to share my personal experiences here on my blog as well as tips for aspiring actors who want to break into the business.
I am an actor in New York City. I have had some success with getting roles and I want to share my experience with others. I am also the producer of a webseries called “Dating.”
I am an actor. I live in New York City. I started this blog because, like most actors, I’m auditioning all the time and it’s easy to get discouraged, especially when you’re not booking the majority of your auditions.
A lot of actors, when they don’t book a job, say things like: “I did everything right! I was so good in that audition and they didn’t give me a callback!”
And guess what? You probably were good in that audition…but there are a million other factors that go into whether or not you book a job. Things like type, chemistry with the director, casting director’s mood at the moment, etc. It’s hard to know exactly what happened when you didn’t get called back. This is why it’s important to develop an attitude about auditioning that has nothing to do with getting called back or getting the part. π
Auditioning is a skill. It takes practice just like any other skill. So my advice is to go on as many auditions as you can (I know this is easier said than done sometimes), even if the role isn’t perfect for you, even if it doesn’t seem like “your type”, even if it’s a commercial and you’re
You can learn a lot in a crash course, but the truth is that it takes years of hard work to become a successful actor. In fact, some of the most famous actors in Hollywood today have been acting for decades and have had hundreds of roles. So, if you are going to take the time to learn about how to act, you might as well learn from the best.
From what I understand, it takes at least two years to get your first role, so you need to be prepared for a long journey ahead. The good news is that there are many resources available to help you along the way. In this article, I will tell you how to get started with acting and give you tips on how to be successful.
We usually use the word “actor” to refer to a person who plays parts in movies, television, and the theater. But, there are many more kinds of acting than that! There are actors on radio and in commercials, too.
If you want to be an actor, it’s important to understand what acting is all about and what kinds of acting jobs are out there. We’ll start with a simple definition of acting, then move on to some ways you can find out if it’s right for you.
Acting is playing pretend. It’s pretending that you’re someone else, or that you’re doing something different from what you really are doing at the moment. You have to be able to put yourself into someone else’s shoes, think like they would think, feel like they would feel, talk the way they would talk.
Acting requires using your imagination and inventing characters or situations that are not real and probably never will be real. As an actor or actress (or child actor), your job is to create characters who seem very real and make them believable for audiences.
