Will Smith, Tom Cruise and Johnny Depp are the stars who made the most money at the domestic box office over the past three years.

Smith topped the list with $788 million in North American ticket sales since 2010, according to a new study by Forbes.com. Cruise came in second with $704 million, while Depp ranks third with $687 million. The list is based on total box office grosses for films released between Jan. 1, 2010, and this past July 31.

The top 10 actors generated an estimated $4 billion in ticket sales in that time frame, and the top 20 actors accounted for about $6 billion. Forbes said it only included actors who appeared in at least three films during that time period.

Forbes also ranked stars based on their appeal to female moviegoers. Leonardo DiCaprio ranked first on that list, followed by Channing Tatum, George Clooney, Johnny Depp and Brad Pitt.

Top Hollywood actors are now paid more than $20 million a movie, and stars like Tom Cruise, Will Smith and Tom Hanks bank more than $30 million annually. If you are an A-list celebrity you should have no problem making the yearly Forbes list of top earning celebrities.
