Many people have asked me about finding Chinese actors for various projects, so I’ve decided to post a list of actors I know (or have worked with) here.
This is by no means comprehensive; there are more Chinese actors out there than you can shake a stick at. But this will hopefully give you somewhere to start your search.
Note that many Chinese actors are not very good at English, so if you’re looking for an actor who speaks both English and Mandarin fluently (and with an American accent), your choices may be limited. The best thing to do when looking for a Chinese actor is to look at what they’ve done before — if they’ve played a lot of roles where they speak English, and they speak it well, then it’s safe to assume they’re a good bet for your project as well.

The following is a list of actors and actresses from Mainland China, Taiwan and Hong Kong listed by their English name. Also included are actors of other Chinese heritage. If there are multiple spellings for an actor’s name, the most common one is used.
Note: As many of these actors have names that do not translate well into English, you may see variations or alternate spellings in other references. While the spelling here is the most common version used in English speaking countries, the fact that these names are phonetic translations makes it impossible to ensure a definitive spelling.
