Your Guide to the Best of The Beaches of Rio: A blog around top beaches in Rio along with movies filmed there and the best time to visit.

The beaches of Rio de Janeiro are world famous for their beauty, and there is no better way to see them than from a beach bike. For a long time now, tourists have been able to tour the city’s most famous landmarks and attractions by bike, but what if you want to experience the beach on your own? Well, that’s exactly what the Beach Bike Tour was created for.

This popular service allows you to explore Rio’s beaches at your leisure and gives you all the information you need on each beach you visit. Here is a quick guide to what you can expect from this unique tour:

The Beach Bike Tour begins in Copacabana, one of the most famous beaches in Brazil. As you cycle along Copacabana Beach you will pass some of the most beautiful sights in Rio including Sugarloaf Mountain, Corcovado Mountain and Tijuca National Park. You will also see some of the many tourist attractions such as the Christ The Redeemer statue and Ipanema Beach.

As well as passing through all these amazing sights, there is

There are many beaches in Rio, with each offering something a little different. If you’re in search of the best beach for surfing, the best for watching a sunset or the best for people-watching there’s a beach for you.

Should you be searching for those things and more, we have your guide to the top beaches in Rio and when to visit.

Ipanema and Copacabana

If you think of one beach when someone mentions Rio de Janeiro, it is probably Ipanema or Copacabana. These two beaches are adjacent to each other and easily some of the most popular in all of Rio. Ipanema sits just south of Leblon and is known for its ‘postcard’ view of the Dois Irmaos mountain with its backdrop of the ocean.

Copacabana on the other hand is known for its views of Sugarloaf Mountain from its stretch along Avenida Atlantica. Both beaches are wide enough that they can accommodate large crowds without feeling too busy. In both cases, these are also considered some of the safest beaches in Rio as well as having some of the best nightlife choices around.

Catherine Zeta-Jones will be the First Lady of the Rio Carnival this year, and it looks like the town’s gearing up for a particularly steamy Carnival.

The samba school that Catherine’s going to belong to is called Salgueiro, one of the most popular in Rio and also one of my personal favorites. The two-time Oscar winner will be leading their parade on March 2nd, when the last of the main parades take place.

Catherine’s not just going to be there for fun, though: she’ll be a host to a number of journalists from around the world who are coming for Carnival, and she’s going to be part of their upcoming documentary about Rio de Janeiro.

The news was announced at a press conference in Rio yesterday with Catherine on hand (via satellite), along with Salgueiro’s president Alexandre Louzada, who was delighted with news that Catherine was joining his school.

Top Hollywood actors may not know it, but some of the most beautiful beaches in the world are just off their own backyards. The California coastline offers a host of various types of beaches for every taste. Beach lovers can find everything from secluded coves to broad, sandy shores that stretch for miles. Baker Beach: Located in San Francisco and just down the street from the Golden Gate Bridge, Baker Beach is an idyllic setting that’s perfect for taking photos with your loved ones. The beach is also popular with local nudists – it’s clothing optional! – so be warned if you’re bringing kids along.

Salt Creek Beach: If you’re looking for a beach that’s off the beaten path, this is the spot for you! Salt Creek Beach is located in Orange County and offers surfers some of the best waves in Southern California. You can also stop by Dana Point Harbor on your way home to catch a glimpse of killer whales or dolphins at play.

El Matador State Beach: El Matador State Beach in Malibu is famous for its
