If you have the talent, the drive and the determination, acting for Hollywood auditions is within your grasp. But it takes a lot of work. From the outside, the life of a successful actor seems glamorous. But there’s a lot more to it than that. You’ll be required to:
1. Learn your lines and practice them over and over until you can deliver them perfectly on cue.
2. Go to acting classes and workshops to hone your skills.
3. Attend hundreds of auditions in front of casting directors and producers who can make or break your career with their opinions.
4. Show up at the perfect time in the perfect outfit for the perfect part with a smile on your face, ready to give an award-winning performance even if you’re not feeling well or are having personal problems or didn’t get enough sleep the night before because you were studying your lines until 2 AM.

When it comes to getting acting work in Hollywood, the competition is fierce. You have to be prepared at all times. If you are not, your chances of getting acting work will be slim. There are a few things you can do to help your chances of landing a big part.
The first thing you need to do is get acting experience. It doesn’t matter if it’s on stage or on film; either one will help your chances when it comes time for an audition. Even if you’ve only acted in high school plays, you’ll stand out from the crowd if you show up with a resume that shows actual acting experience.
You should also create a demo reel that showcases your best work. This way, the casting director can see how well you perform in front of a camera and how well versed you are in different characters and situations.

Conflict is the driving force of all drama. It is the source of tension, suspense, and interest. Without conflict there would be no story. The characters in the story must struggle against each other or an outside force to obtain what they want. For example: A young girl is fighting her mother for independence; a man is fighting his wife for a divorce; a group of people are struggling against a dictator for their freedom; a woman is struggling with herself for the courage to ask her boss for a raise; a man is struggling with his conscience over whether to continue stealing money from his employer.
Conflict can be defined as anything that blocks another character’s goal or desire. The audience wants to see how the characters involved will overcome their problem or how the conflict will be resolved. There are two types of conflict: external and internal.
External conflict takes place between a character and an outside force, i.e., another character, society, nature, supernatural powers, etc. The following are examples of external conflict:
A character struggles against another person for possession of a gun.
A teenager argues with her parents about staying out late at night.
A man struggles with nature when he is caught in an avalanche while skiing.

Some people are so dedicated to their craft they will do anything. Even if it means getting a tattoo.
It’s not everyday you meet an actor who is willing to get a tattoo for a movie. And its even rarer when the actor is willing to get not one, but seven! But that’s exactly what went down during the filming of Prison Break.
Wentworth Miller, star of the show, got seven tattoos on his body for the role of Michael Schofield, including one on his neck that was hidden by a bandage in most scenes. The tattoos were designed by Greg Dunn and took about eight hours to complete.
