The New Batman: a movie themed blog
By M. Caine
Who will be the new Batman?
The superhero who has been through more incarnations than The Doctor is set to take on a new face in what will be his third reboot. But should this new Batman be played by the popular choice, Ben Affleck? The rumour mill has been working overdrive on this one and we’ve taken it upon ourselves to sort through the facts and fiction of this most hotly debated casting decision.
The Dark Knight Returns (1986) is a four issue comic book mini-series starring an older Bruce Wayne as Batman. It was written by Frank Miller, drawn by Miller and Klaus Janson, and published by DC Comics from February to June 1986. It reintroduced the character in his later years, depicted as retired but still active, with a different style of costume and gadgetry than the original Batman.
There are rumours that Affleck’s incarnation will be based on this character. There is no official word yet, but there have been whispers that this is indeed the case and that it may even lead to a Justice League film inspired by the Justice League International comic series featuring an older, wiser Bruce Wayne mentoring a younger generation of superheroes.
The New Batman (IMDB) is a movie themed blog. It is written by Rick, a former Hollywood screenwriter and frequent film goer. If you love movies, you will love this blog!
Rick has a great passion for cinema, and it shows in his writing. A lot of people who know me say I am a man of many interests. That’s putting it mildly. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, but have always yearned for the camaraderie of my fellow man. I think that’s why I like movies so much. They connect all of us in the human race with their universal themes and messages. And they are all about human drama, which appeals to me on an emotional level. Movies are my way of reaching out and touching another person with my muse!
This blog was started as an experiment to see if the creative spirit could be tapped into by simply watching movies and writing about them. So far, it’s been working like a charm! The only thing left to do now is keep it going!
After a full week of watching trailers, I was very excited about the new Batman movie. I have been watching trailers for the last seven days and have seen 22 trailers in all.
I saw some good ones like this one from “The New Spiderman” and some bad ones like this one from “Bourne Legacy.” There were quite a few mediocre ones like “Dark Shadows” and “Snow White and The Huntsman.” The trailer for “The Avengers” is pretty good, but it is not as good as it could be. It gives you a great idea of what to expect, but it does not really give you a sense of the characters or how they interact with each other. It just shows some big explosions and a lot of stuff blowing up.
There are a lot of great actors in this movie – Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo – but they are all playing very different characters. There is not really any chemistry between them at all and it feels like they are just there because they are famous actors who happen to be in the same room together.
I was very disappointed with this trailer because there is nothing here that
The New Batman opens on Jan. 20, 2012 and stars Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman.
Batman is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The character was created by artist Bob Kane and writer Bill Finger,[3][4] and first appeared in Detective Comics
The new Batman movie, with Christian Bale and Michael Caine, looks great.
I can’t wait to see it.

I don’t know what everyone else thinks about this, but it feels like a completely different movie than those directed by Tim Burton, even though it’s the same character. The first time I heard about “Batman Begins” I knew that Christopher Nolan would be the perfect director for this new style of Batman film. And I was right!
The first thing that comes to mind when I think of Batman is not just the suit or the gadgets, but everything else: the dark streets of Gotham City and how they seem to reflect his mood in some way; his pursuit of justice for all those who have lost loved ones to crime; and most importantly, his many enemies like The Joker, The Riddler and Two-Face.
There’s a lot of hype around the new Batman movie. But I’m not going to talk about that now. Instead, I want to discuss themes.
A theme is an idea that runs throughout a text. In a novel, it’s the central idea or ideas explored in the book; in a movie, it’s usually conveyed through visual elements and actions by the characters (as well as dialogue).
What are some of the main themes in The Dark Knight? One that I find particularly interesting is the theme of choice. The Joker makes a good point: “The only sensible way to live in this world is without rules.” Certainly there are rules in society that make no sense and don’t benefit anyone. But there have to be rules-otherwise we would have chaos.
The Joker also says something else that got me thinking: “You have nothing, nothing, to threaten me with. Nothing to do with all your strength.” This quote suggests another theme: powerlessness. Even though Batman is strong physically and has a lot of resources at his disposal, he still cannot control all situations (or stop people from doing bad things).
Here are some observations about actors, or actresses.
Some actors are better than others. You can tell how good an actor is by how much money he or she makes. A good actor or actress makes a lot of money. A bad actor does not make very much money.
Sometimes an actor will play a character in a movie that is not very interesting. If the actor is a good actor, he or she will still make a lot of money even if the movie is boring. If the movie is boring and the actor is making more than ten million dollars, then it is likely that the actor has been in other movies that have made a lot of money.
Some actors have been in many movies, but they have not made any money because they are not very talented. They may be good looking, but they cannot act. If you would like to see how bad an actor can be, watch “Boat Trip” starring Cuba Gooding Jr., who was in “Jerry Maguire” with Tom Cruise and Renee Zellweger. This movie was so bad that it did not make any money at all.
