This list will only include actors and actresses that are alive, so sorry to all of you who were expecting Paul Newman or Brad Pitt. However, if you like Tom Hanks and Johnny Depp, then you should enjoy this blog.

This is a list of the most prolific film actors through the end of 2014. The list only includes actors who have appeared in more than 50 films.

The following criteria were used to make this list:

1) The actor had to appear in at least 50 movies with a theatrical release between 2000 and 2014.

2) Television movies were not included in the total count.

3) Short films (under 30 minutes) were not included in the total count.

4) Cameos, supporting roles and voice work were all counted.

5) TV shows and TV series (even if those shows are based on a film) were not counted. For example, “The Office” or “24.”

6) Documentaries, video games, MOWs (movies of the week), and straight-to-video/DVD releases were not counted.

7) Only English language works are included.

8.) Only live action works are included. No animation, anime or CGI.
