I’ve been working on a list of the top agents in the business today along with actors they represent. I’m not a fan of the “Who’s the greatest agent of all time?” question, because it’s a subjective matter and one that is always changing. At any given time there are good and bad agents out there, and some are both. You can’t say that just because an actor does well in the movies, their agent is doing a great job.

The real reason I wanted to make this list was because I wanted to have a nice reference for aspiring actors who are looking to get representation. It’s not just about who they represent, it’s more about what kind of people they are as agents and how they work with actors.

So here we go! (I included an honorable mentions at the bottom because it would have been too long otherwise.)

10: Ryan Reynolds

9: Tom Hiddleston

8: Will Smith

7: Scarlett Johansson

6: Daniel Radcliffe

5: Jennifer Lawrence

4: Johnny Depp

3: Emma Watson

2: Paul Rudd

1: Robert Downey Jr.

I’m not referring to a secret agent. I’m talking about an acting agent. It seems like every day you hear about a new actor booking a role, attending a premiere or stepping out for lunch with friends, but do you know who represents that actor?

Here are the top 10 actors and actresses you didn’t know were agents:

1. Jennifer Garner – She is the acting agent behind her hubby Ben Affleck, as well as her Alias co-star Victor Garber. Other agents she represents are Chris Pine and Michael Vartan.

2. Sarah Jessica Parker – Parker has some of the hottest female names in TV on her roster including Courteney Cox, Debra Messing and Patricia Heaton.

3. Hugh Jackman – The Wolverine is the acting agent for Oscar winner Cuba Gooding Jr., Jason Isaacs and John Travolta.

4. Kevin Costner – Costner has found success becoming an Oscar winning director and producer, but he also has an eye for talent as an acting agent as well. Some of his clients include Richard Jenkins, Josh Lucas and Denis Leary.

5. Jeffrey Katzenberg – Now that he is busy running DreamWorks

Some actors do a lot more than just act. They are also agents for other actors in the business. The following list is the top 10 actors and actresses that you probably didn’t know were agents:

An agent is a person who causes something to happen by their actions. In the context of acting, an agent is a person who represents actors and helps them get work. Actors and actresses hire agents to find them roles that suit their talents, read scripts, negotiate contracts, and communicate with casting directors.

Agents are also known as talent agents or bookers or managers. These people are responsible for finding auditions, negotiating payment amounts for jobs, and getting the actors’ names out in public. Agents often receive a commission from the performers they represent – typically about 10 percent of the amount earned for each job.

This commission is called ten percent or the “standard” percentage rate in the industry. It is not set in stone; it can vary from agent to agent and according to what kind of job an actor has booked.

1. \'The Rock\' Dwayne Johnson

Dwayne Johnson, better known as The Rock, has a background in professional wrestling, but he is also an actor and producer. Among his many acting roles, Johnson starred in films such as The Mummy Returns and The Scorpion King. He also starred in the HBO series Ballers, which he produced along with ex-NFL player and actor Mark Wahlberg.

As it turns out, Johnson is also an agent. He founded his own company called Seven Bucks Productions. His main client is himself, but he does represent other actors and actresses too such as Kevin Hart, who was the star of Central Intelligence.

1. James Brolin – Actor, Producer

Brolin has been a formidable actor and producer for more than 30 years. He has starred in films such as Catch Me If You Can, The Amityville Horror and Traffic. He was also the original host of the reality series Unsolved Mysteries.

In addition to his acting, Brolin is an agent with Brolin & Associates (formerly known as Gallant & Brolin). The agency represents models and actors in TV/Film and commercials, most notably actors Michael Cudlitz (The Walking Dead) and Kevin Eubanks (Tonight Show Bandleader).
