Theater Improv Acting Classes for Teens and Kids in New York City
Looking for the best acting classes for kids? The Barrow Group’s kids and teen acting classes focus on teaching the craft of acting through improvisation, scene study and other theater games in a supportive atmosphere. Our teachers are professional actors and directors who have been trained under TBG’s co-founders, Seth Barrish and Lee Brock. They teach their students the same techniques they use on Broadway, TV and Film. TBG’s children’s acting classes are designed to teach young performers how to make choices as actors while building confidence and taking risks.

Drama classes for teens at The Barrow Group have a reputation for being some of the best in New York City! We’re known for having a rigorous, intellectually stimulating and successful program.
We believe in the power of ensemble theater and we teach our actors how to use their own life experiences on stage. We strive to help our actors develop strong imaginations and make bold, personal choices while they work on their characters and scene work.
Our teen classes are designed with the goal of building confidence and strengthening communication skills. We want to give young people tools that will help them relate to others in a way that is honest, sincere and clear.
We are offering a unique opportunity for teens aged 12-17 to participate in an acting intensive taught by professional actors and directors. Classes will take place Monday through Friday from 10am to 4pm. Students will be guided through the process of creating a character and telling their story truthfully on stage. Our weeklong intensive culminates in a performance for family and friends.
All levels of experience are encouraged to apply.
Classes run Monday through Friday, 10am – 4pm, at the New 42nd Street Studios located at 229 West 42nd Street. The weeklong program costs $350 per student, with a limited number of scholarships available.
The Atlantic Theater Company in New York City is now enrolling for summer acting classes. Atlantic Acting School has been creating and teaching authentic and imaginative acting techniques to young actors for over 30 years. Led by some of New Yorkβs finest acting teachers, our instructors challenge students to become curious, creative, and brave. All classes are taught by practicing theater artists who are passionate about passing on what they know best: the craft of acting.
Explore a wide range of acting skills through games, exercises, and scene work. Learn acting technique based in the Meisner tradition as well as improvisation skills and sensory work that allow you to discover new ways to create characters and tell stories.

The drama classes are designed to meet the needs of middle school and high school students. The goal is to provide a safe place for young people to develop their confidence, creativity and imagination. Students will learn to act and improvise, work on a monologue or scene and build their character. A showcase will be performed at the end of the session. We offer group drama classes, private coaching, workshops and summer camps.
