My analysis consisted of writing down my thoughts and feelings as I observed each actor on screen. I then rated each actor based on their ability to engage me in their performance and how their character affected my thoughts and feelings. Based on my research, here are my top five best actors from The Godfather:

What makes these movies great is the cast! Here are some of my favorite actors and actresses in the Godfather movies:

Marlon Brando (Vito Corleone) – When it comes to playing a bad guy, few actors can do it better than Marlon Brando. Throughout his career he’s played many memorable villains such as Colonel Kurtz from Apocalypse Now or Colonel Walter E. Kurtz from The Great Escape (both characters were loosely based on real-life criminals). But none of these roles come close to his portrayal of Vito Corleone in The Godfather Part I and II (1972, 1974). In fact, Vito Corleone is probably one of my favorite movie villains ever!

Robert Duvall (Tom Hagen) – Robert Duvall plays Tom Hagen, Vito Corleone’s right-hand man and consigliere, as well as Michael Corleone’s lawyer/advisor. He was born to play this role
