Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson are set to reprise their roles in the two-part finale, which will be directed by Francis Lawrence.
Natalie Dormer of Game of Thrones will play Cressida, a former Hunger Games director who joins Katniss Everdeen’s (Lawrence) rebel crew in their fight against the Capitol and President Snow (Donald Sutherland), in addition to Natalie joining the cast Julianne Moore and Evan Ross.
Moore is playing President Alma Coin, leader of District 13, while Ross will portray her son Messalla.
Philip Seymour Hoffman died last month at age 46 from an apparent drug overdose. Hoffman played Plutarch Heavensbee in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, and was expected to return for Mockingjay. Though Lionsgate has not announced how it plans to handle his death, our sister site Variety reports that he had already completed filming his scenes for Part 1 before his passing.

Katniss Everdeen played by Jennifer Lawrence

The director of the film, Suzanne Collins said that she can’t wait to work with Jennifer Lawrence. She said that she was very talented and was able to get into roles easily. The producers of the film said that they couldn’t have done it without her and are looking forward to working with her again. The movie is scheduled to be released in November 2012. It will be in theaters on November 22nd, 2012. It’s going to be an epic movie!
Katniss Everdeen is the main character of the hunger games trilogy. She is 16 years old and lives in District 12 which is a coal mining town in Appalachia. She volunteers for her sister Primrose who gets chosen by lottery for the annual hunger games. Katniss has brown hair and grey eyes. Her favorite color is red because it reminds her of fire which keeps people warm during cold nights at home with her family. She loves animals but does not like killing them for food so she hunts them down instead using arrows from her bow called “Katniss” after herself because she got it as a gift from her father when he died from pneumoconiosis caused
