I was inspired to write this after watching one of my favorite people in the world — a person who is usually very sweet, kind and easygoing — lose their temper and say some things that they didn’t mean to say in the moment.

In fact, if you don’t learn how to control your anger, it can have a negative impact on both your personal and professional life. This is why it’s so important to find a way to keep your cool when you’re angry. Here are some tips that can help you do just that:

Take Deep, Slow Breaths

The first step in calming down during an intense argument is to close your eyes and take deep breaths. Breathe in slowly through your nose while counting to four. Hold that breath for two seconds before breathing out through your mouth for another count of four. Repeat this process until you feel calm again.

Walk Away from the Situation

6. Learn the art of acceptance and letting go

Try to take long, slow breaths. Inhaling through your nose and exhaling through your mouth will help calm you down more quickly.
