I am a young indie film actor looking for representation. I have been acting in independent films for 3 years and have an extensive resume of short and feature length movies. I have also had a small role in a major motion picture that is scheduled for release next fall. I have just completed production on a new feature film which I believe will be a major calling card for my acting career. The film, “The King of Kong Island,” has been selected to screen at the Cannes Film Festival. I’m writing to ask if you and your agency would be interested in taking me on as a client. I’m looking for an experienced agency with strong contacts in independent film and television, and I’ve got several projects in the works where I could use your help.
“King of Kong Island” is a feature-length comedy about a young video game champion who gets dropped into the jungles of Southeast Asia and battles his way back home against various monsters, beasts, and ninjas. It’s been described by Variety as “a sort of cross between ‘King Kong’ and ‘Tron.'” The lead role is played by Freddie Wong, one of the top 100 YouTubers in the world; his online videos have been viewed more than 60 million times in the past two years.
The film was shot guerilla style last summer in Thailand using members of Freddie’s fan base as extras. To finance production we launched a Kickstarter campaign that raised over $300k from 6500 people around the world; this was featured prominently on Mashable
As a working actor, I’ve been fortunate to have the opportunity to perform in several indie films, some of which have been nominated for prestigious awards.
