I recently came across an interesting article on the screenwriting blog Go Into the Story, called “Have a Top Notch Film Career.” The post is by Roger Wolfson, and it’s a fun read.
But what really caught my attention was the accompanying 10-question quiz that asks you to consider whether you have what it takes to make it as a film actor.
I think every young actor should take this quiz. It will help them see if they have what it takes to make it in Hollywood. I’ve posted the quiz below for your convenience.

The film industry is one of the most competitive fields to get into. Most people don’t know how to get started. Even when they do, they usually fail to meet the qualifications and standards that they need in order to succeed and prosper. Here’s a list of the top 10 Hollywood actors who have a successful career and are still in the industry today:

1. Find a coach.
This is the best way to get a career in Hollywood. The coach will help you prepare for auditions and will give you the most current information on how to market yourself. The coach will also help you develop your skills, and guide you through what can be a very difficult career transition. A good coach will be both supportive and honest with you, but it is important that the coach is not your friend or family member. Friends and family are not necessarily well-qualified to guide you through this process.
2. Get an agent.
If you can afford it, get an agent right away. You may think that it’s better to work without an agent until you have more experience; however, if you do not have an agent, then as soon as you get anywhere with your career, people will start calling your manager trying to steal him or her away from you. So it is best to get an agent right away so that he or she can protect your interests once you start getting some success under your belt. If your goal is to be a lead actor in movies, then get a film agent immediately (don’t settle for a TV or commercial agent). A good film agent will know how to pitch you to casting directors
