My International Awards Showcase

In 2017, I received ‘Best New Song’ and ‘Best New Artist’ nominations in the international Independent Music Awards. This prompted a slew of shows and interviews around the world. Here’s a snapshot of where I’ve been and what I’ve been up to since my EP dropped!

This past month has been a whirlwind of international travel and performances. Since my EP release in mid November, I have been travelling all over the world performing my new music at showcases as well as meeting other musicians, songwriters and industry professionals.

Just before Christmas I was en route to London for my first showcase of the trip at The Bedford in Balham. I was invited by Music City Songstar to perform at the event with a full band for their end of year showcase. The event was very well attended with lots of music industry professionals and fellow artists in the crowd. A big thank you to Karis Anderson from The Voice UK for introducing me on stage! I had an amazing time performing as well as networking and making lots of new connections. If you are interested in attending one of these showcases, please visit http://musiccitysongstar.com/blog/showcase-dates-and-tickets/

The day after that showcase I packed up my bag and headed over to Italy to visit family and friends before heading back to London for my next performance. On January 4th, I performed at The Green Note in Camden Town with a full band, putting together a great set list of original songs as well as some covers that were a little more upbeat than usual

Now that I have an album out in many territories, I am constantly getting asked “What have you been up to since the release of your EP?” Well, here is the answer to that question!

Since the release of my EP entitled “The Melancholy of Being a Singer-Songwriter,” I have attempted to get back into the auditioning game. This quest has taken me from California all the way over to England and then back again to California.

This crazy journey started by flying back to Los Angeles for pilot season. This time around, I was lucky enough to be considered for a few roles. In addition to auditioning for major networks such as NBC and FOX, I also had some great meetings with casting directors and producers. Luckily, I was able to book some fun roles on TV shows like “Love” on Netflix where I played a “hip millennial at a moped expo” and an ABC pilot called “Conviction” where I played a bartender who is friends with one of the main characters.

After spending some time in LA, it was off to England for the London Screenings. Here, I met with casting directors and producers from across Europe who were looking for actors to cast in their projects including commercials, TV shows and movies

This is a blog post about my 2017 awards season. I will be updating the list with more awards as they come in!

This year I have been blessed to have had even more success on the film festival circuit. My short film The Actress has won a number of awards, including Best International Short Film at the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival Awards and been nominated for Best Short Film at the USC First Look Film Festival.

I also won Best Performance by an Actor in a Short Film for my role in The Actress.

The Actress was recently screened at the Rhode Island International Film Festival and will be screening again this month at the SoCal Shorts International Film Festival, where it has been nominated for Best Student Short.

I was extremely excited to see that my song “After Actors” was voted into the Top 5 of the International Songwriting Competition. It’s such an honor to be in great company with so many amazing musicians and producers from all over the world.

The song is from my After Actors EP, which was released earlier this year. The EP is available on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify and many other online music stores and streaming services.

I also had a blast performing at the 2016 Latin Grammy Awards in Las Vegas! I was one of 7 “Grammy Camp” alumni to perform as part of a special showcase at the University of Nevada Las Vegas’ Artemus Ham Hall for a crowd of music industry professionals, Grammy nominees and guests.

Hello Everyone!

I hope you are all doing well and had a great holiday season! I have been busy putting the finishing touches on my “After Actors” EP, and I was very excited to be able to release it in the last quarter of 2017. After that, I decided to take a little break from touring in order to spend some time with family and friends, as well as finish up some other projects. However, this does not mean that I have been sitting around being lazy. In fact, I have been working very hard on a lot of different things since the end of 2017. Here is a list of what I have been up to:

I was fortunate enough to be nominated for three awards at the Hamilton Music Awards this year! The categories I was nominated in were:

Best Pop Album (for β€œActors”)

Best Pop Artist

Discovery of the Year

It was an honour to be recognized for my efforts, and a pleasure to attend the event. I had a blast of a night with my friends and family. To top it all off, I won the award for Discovery of the Year!!!! Thank you so much to everyone who voted for me. This is definitely one of my career highlights so far.

Since then I have been doing some exciting things that I want to tell you all about…

On November 17th, 2017 I walked onto the stage at Mohawk College, in front of thousands of people, and kicked off the biggest concert of my life. There were a ton of incredible artists on that stage that night. Some of them have been inspirations of mine since the beginning of my career. It was awesome to meet them all in person! We performed songs from our albums, and then we came together for a group song at the end of the show which was an absolute blast to do!

This event is known as Collective Concerts – It stands
