The month of June is in the books and summer is off to a great start. We’ve been busy all month working on some amazing projects with some amazing talent, which we can’t wait to share with you soon. We’ve got another great feature for you this month and it’s with actor Ryan James Young from Los Angeles, who has been featured in several commercials, television shows and films.

RJY: My first role was in the TV show “ER” during the later seasons. I was cast as a kid who gets into a bike accident. It was really cool to be on that show and work with Maura Tierney. I remember having to chase her down the hospital hallway and get tackled by security guards. That scene I did when I was 12 years old still stands out in my mind as one of the best experiences of my career!

RJY: I was at an open call audition for the TV show “ER.” It was a cattle call – there were so many people there. You sat in a holding room until your name was called. You went into the audition room, you did your thing, if they liked you they asked for more material, if not then you could leave. This particular day my agent called me about an hour

Ryan James Young began his career as a working actor at the age of 13 and is quickly becoming a rising star in Hollywood. He plays the recurring role of ‘Kevin’ on Disney Channel’s Austin & Ally and can currently be seen guest starring on CBS’s The Mentalist. Ryan also appeared in the second season of HBO’s True Blood as ‘Alex,’ the son of Jessica Hamby. He has also appeared in NCIS: Los Angeles, Criminal Minds, and Grey’s Anatomy.

Ryan’s film credits include Saving Lincoln, based on the true story of Abraham Lincoln and his personal bodyguard saving the 16th President from an assassination attempt; The Three Stooges, directed by Peter Farrelly; We Bought A Zoo with Matt Damon and Scarlett Johansson; and the Hallmark movie Mistletoe Over Manhattan.

When not working on set, Ryan enjoys playing soccer, surfing and snowboarding. He lives with his family in Southern California.

Born in a small town called Gondia, in India, Ryan James Young was raised by his mother and grandmother. His father passed away when he was only nine months old, leaving him to be raised by two very strong women. His mother was a school teacher and his grandmother, who he credits for teaching him the meaning of true love, was a housewife.

Ryan’s love for the arts started at a young age when he watched his first Bollywood movie with his family. After watching this film all Ryan wanted to do was act, dance and sing. However, due to his family’s conservative ways they disapproved of this desire and chose not to support him. As Ryan grew older he began to realize that acting is what he wanted as a career and in order to do this he needed the proper training. At 17 years old he left home in search of a more understanding environment where he could pursue his dreams.

After settling down in Bombay, Ryan attended an acting workshop hosted by Rajat Kapoor (Big Brother). Through this workshop Ryan discovered that he had talent for acting but still needed a lot of training. Shortly after attending this workshop Ryan auditioned for and attended 3 years at the Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting Lab; a prestigious acting school
