Monday Motivation: a blog about helping all the aspiring actors out there with their daily acting motivation. Monday Motivation is written by an actor for actors. I am an actor working in Los Angeles and have been acting professionally for over 10 years now. I have had the opportunity to work with some of the best in the business, such as James Cameron on Avatar, and even been blessed to win a few awards along the way. I started this blog because I wanted to create a place where actors could come and get their acting motivation on a daily basis. I want MondayMotivation to be a resource for you to use everyday as an actor, so that you will never forget why you started acting in the first place! MondayMotivation is here to help you become the best actor you can be! So here it is, your daily dose of Acting Motivation…

I have been reading my favorite blog lately and have noticed that they have been talking about something that is very important to me as an actor: acting motivation. As an actor, it can be hard some days to stay motivated when things aren’t going well or when you are not getting any auditions or callbacks. It can be easy to get down on yourself when this happens, but what I have

This week, we’re bringing you the story of a small town girl who made it big when she moved to Hollywood. For all the aspiring actors out there (and for those of you who just love film), we hope you enjoy this week’s post.

Our featured actor is Matt Damon. You may know him from his Oscar-winning role in Good Will Hunting. Or perhaps from Gary Ross’ The Hunger Games, where he played the role of Peter Mitchell, Katniss Everdeen’s friend and fellow tribute from District 12. He has also starred in a number of other popular films like Interstellar and We Bought a Zoo. For all the aspiring actors out there (and for those of you who just love film), we hope you enjoy this week’s post.

Monday Motivation: The Power of Networking

Find out how Monday Motivation can help you with your acting career.

Welcome to another edition of Monday Motivation, the blog where I share my own personal tips and tricks on finding motivation every day of the week. If you’re an aspiring actor trying to make it in the industry, please be sure to check back here each week for a new post. You can also find me on Facebook and Twitter (@mondaymotivate).

This week I want to talk about networking. In my experience, this is one of the most important aspects of being an actor. It’s true that talent is needed to get your foot in the door, but it’s often the relationships you build that keep you there.

The best way to do this is through social media. There are countless Facebook groups for actors that are filled with people who are interested in helping each other out. These groups are a great place to make friends and find work as well. I highly recommend joining at least one of these groups if not more!

In addition to joining online groups, don’t forget about meeting people in person too! Every so often I like to go out for coffee or drinks with friends from these groups so that we can get to

Our mission is to empower you to be the best actor you can possibly be. We are here to help you get a breakthrough in your acting career and become the household name that you want to be.

We will provide you with daily motivation, tips, lessons and helpful information on the actors that have made it in Hollywood and the actors that are still striving to reach their potential.

If you’re reading this blog, you probably want to be an actor.

Maybe you’ve been bitten by the acting bug or you’ve always wanted to act but never had the guts to try. Maybe you’ve been performing your whole life and are now looking for new ways to take your training and career to the next level. Maybe you’re just looking for some inspiration and advice for your upcoming audition. No matter where you are in your acting journey, I hope that this blog will help you on your way!

And even if you don’t have any specific goals in mind, then maybe I can at least entertain you with some fun stories about my own experiences as an actor.

All I ask is that if you enjoy the blog then please share it with others who might appreciate it too!

“Acting is a profession”

“Acting is an art”

These are some of the things we tell ourselves as actors. And they’re true. But what’s also true is that acting can be a business and your career can be treated like a job. They are one in the same, but we have to take our jobs seriously if we want to succeed at them. That doesn’t mean we stop acting like artists, but it does mean that we have to do some work that isn’t always fun: marketing ourselves, strengthening our skills, working on our mindset.

One of my favorite ways to strengthen my skills as an actor is through watching other actors do their thing! I love watching movies and TV shows, but I also love watching actors who are just starting out, or who aren’t as well known.

I’m always looking for new actors to follow and watch, so if you know of any lesser-known actors that you think deserve more attention, let me know!

At the end of the day, all that matters is that you’re happy with what you’ve created. If you’re not, then keep working on it until you are proud of yourself and your work. From there you can share it with the world.

It’s so easy to get lost in the comparison game and ask yourself why your work isn’t as good as someone else’s. The answer is because it isn’t! Every single one of us has our own unique style and story to tell. It’s up to us to put in the work to develop it and share it with others.

So next time you go to write a scene, or do some improv, or audition for a role, remember: only YOU can make your art! And only YOU can tell YOUR story!
