Matthew Perry Injured as he Falls off a Bicycle: A blog about a television star and his stunt.
Actors fall off their bicycles all the time, but this time it was Matthew Perry who hit the ground hard. The Friends actor was cycling on Tuesday when he lost control of the bike and crashed down onto the road, according to witnesses. The accident happened in Brentwood, Los Angeles.
According to TMZ, Perry was riding near his home when he fell off the bicycle on Tuesday afternoon. He rode directly into a wall and tried to come back onto his feet, but he couldn’t get up and tumbled down onto the road twice before he got up again.
According to reports, paramedics arrived at the scene and took him away in an ambulance. His condition is unknown at this point. This is not the first time that Perry has been injured in a bike accident. In 1997, he broke three ribs after falling off his bike while playing tennis with Bruce Willis.
Matthew Perry Injured as he Falls off a Bicycle
Matthew Perry was injured Friday when he fell off his bike and broke three ribs. The good news is that the bones will heal. The bad news is that the accident will be taped for broadcast as part of an upcoming stand-up comedy special on HBO.
Now, I have nothing against Matthew Perry or his television show. I just think it’s funny when celebrities get hurt, especially when they’re not seriously hurt and the injury is more of a minor inconvenience. I also like to think that someone once said to Matthew Perry, “Hey Matthew, you should try riding a bicycle.” And then they became famous and he became famous and now they’re really rich and he’s really rich and they can look back on their conversation and say “Ha ha, remember that time I told you to ride a bicycle?”
But I don’t take any pleasure in it because there’s always a chance it could happen to me.

The injury is not serious, because it’s in his shoulder area. His spokeswoman says that it will take a day or two before the actor feels perfectly well again, but that she doesn’t see any problem with him being back on the set after that.
Conspiracy theorists might say that Perry’s injuries are just a way to get out of something, but we can all rest assured now: he’ll be back for this afternoon’s filming!
