He is the son of Suzanne Morrison, a Canadian journalist and Hans Perry, an American actor. His father is of German, Irish, Swiss-German and English descent. His mother is of Scottish and French-Canadian ancestry.
His siblings are Willy (his twin brother), director and producer; Madeline and actress Jennifer Perry. He moved to Los Angeles at the age of 15 in hopes of getting into acting. He is fluent in both French and English, which he learned from his father who grew up in Ottawa, Ontario.
