If you just finished a long day of work and you’re looking tired and worn out look no further than your local health food store to help you feel your best. Aromatherapy can be a great way to unwind and relax after a long day. There are many different ways that you can use aromatherapy to get rid of your stress.
Aromatherapy can sometimes be used in combination with massage. Aromatherapy oils are used in most spas and salons for this purpose. These oils are often made from many different kinds of plants and herbs. You’ll find that there’s an oil available for nearly any type of mood or emotion that you might be feeling.
If you love the smell of lavender consider using lavender essential oil during your next massage. Not only is it soothing but it smells great too! If you can’t get an aromatherapy massage try making your own at home. All you need is some essential oil and a carrier oil such as grape seed, sweet almond or jojoba oil. Mix about ten drops of essential oil into two ounces of carrier oil and use it on yourself after getting out of the shower or bathtub.
There are plenty of reasons why you might look tired. Maybe you worked a double shift, maybe you’re sick, or maybe you just haven’t had enough sleep. No matter how tired you look, there are many natural remedies to get your skin looking its best!
When it comes to essential oils, there are several that can help your skin look more vibrant and healthy. Patchouli oil is commonly used in aromatherapy to help restore the skin’s natural glow and luster. Made from the leaves of the patchouli plant, this essential oil has a strong earthy smell that’s perfect for both men and women. The scent is also believed to be able to reduce tension headaches by relaxing the muscles in the head and neck. For best results, add five drops of patchouli oil to any lotion or cream or use it alone as a moisturizer on your face and body.
Lemongrass oil has a lighter scent than patchouli oil but offers many of the same benefits. It’s also known for its ability to rejuvenate tired looking skin because it’s packed with antioxidants that help protect cells from damage caused by free radicals like pollution, UV rays and cigarette smoke. Lemongrass oil also contains anti-inflammatory compounds that can
The cast of Friends was used to the paparazzi. After 10 years and over 200 episodes, they were used to being recognized and photographed on a daily basis. But when they heard that Jennifer Aniston had been photographed looking tired and disheveled while leaving her apartment, they were floored.
“We couldn’t believe it,” says Matt LeBlanc, who played Joey on the hit NBC show. “I mean, here we all were, going through something that would be life-changing for most people. And she’s getting slammed for looking like crap? Come on.”
It was in an attempt to both support their friend and to try to alleviate some of their own stress that the cast embarked on their aromatherapy journey. “A lot of people don’t realize how stressful this whole thing is,” says Lisa Kudrow. “The fans are great, but when you’re being followed by photographers all the time, it takes its toll.”
It was David Schwimmer who suggested aromatherapy as a way to deal with all the stress. “I had always been interested in essential oils,” he says of his decision to become a certified aromatherapist after the end of Friends. “But I didn’t want to start studying until after
The smell of aromatherapy candles as they burn, though, creates a different kind of mood; the smell is calming, peaceful and relaxing. The scent can help you rest and your body to relax.
What’s nice about candles is that they can be used anywhere. Some people use them in their bedroom before going to bed, while others use them in their bathroom when they’re taking a bath. A few people even like to light them in the living room during parties in order to create a nice smelling atmosphere for their guests.
When you buy aromatherapy candles, it’s important that you keep a few things in mind:1) If a candle doesn’t say “soy” or “beeswax” on the label, don’t buy it. Paraffin wax is petroleum-based and should be avoided at all costs because it produces carcinogenic soot when it burns.2) Make sure that the candle has a lead-free wick so you aren’t inhaling lead fumes when burning it.3) Don’t buy cheap! Cheaper candles are made with cheaper ingredients and are more likely to contain paraffin wax or lead-based wicks.
It’s been a busy week for actor Johnny Depp. On Tuesday, he joined the cast of the fifth installment of “Pirates of the Caribbean” and then he was off on a press tour for “Alice in Wonderland”. But neither project was enough to keep him from winning Best Actor at the BAFTAs on Sunday night.
He pulled out all the stops for his acceptance speech, which included a bit about how proud he was of his children and an emotional tribute to his long-time partner Vanessa Paradis. He also mentioned that he had a nasty case of the flu and asked if anyone had any aromatherapy. When the crowd roared with laughter, Depp went on to say that he might have used some bad words during his speech if it weren’t for the aromatherapy.
“She was twenty-eight or twenty-nine, with a pale face and reddish hair that hung in limp clumps. She had the kind of soft features that were not unattractive but didn’t look good in close-up, especially under hot lights. She was a small woman, no more than five feet tall, with a large head and wide eyes that sometimes seemed to protrude slightly.
She looked like somebody’s older sister.”
If you have watched the news — or even if you haven’t — you may have heard about this woman who testified at the trial of Bill Cosby on sexual assault charges. Her name is Andrea Constand.
What does she do for a living? Well… she used to be an actress. But she’s having trouble making ends meet these days, so she has taken up another career path: knitting!
I don’t know about you, but I think that’s great! It’s so hard to find something interesting to do after your acting career has ended… especially if you’re female.
Andrea Constand looks pretty tired in the picture above, but I’m sure she’ll feel much better once she gets herself some nice wool and starts knitting!
Try aromatherapy to get rid of the common cold. Aromatherapy is a holistic therapy using natural plant extracts to promote health and well-being.
Scientists have discovered that many essential oils have antiseptic, antiviral, and antifungal properties. They also found that fragrance has a powerful effect on our moods and emotions.
Using aromatherapy along with other complementary treatments can be effective in treating a wide range of ailments from migraine headaches to cancer. It can reduce pain and nausea after an operation, ease the symptoms of hay fever, combat stress and depression, alleviate premenstrual symptoms, and relieve the itchiness of eczema.
Aromatherapy has also been shown to enhance the effectiveness of conventional medicine. Studies indicate that it may help speed up recovery after surgery or chemotherapy by boosting the immune system.
It can be used for skin care or as an insect repellent, or to treat minor cuts and scrapes. Blended with a carrier oil such as almond or apricot kernel, essential oils can be applied directly to the skin when treating wounds or burns, or for deep muscle relaxation in a massage treatment.
