Kaya Scodelario was born in Haywards Heath, Sussex, England to a Brazilian mother and an English father. Her name Scodelario comes from her mother’s surname. When she was 15 years old, Kaya started her career with the television series Skins. She was also featured in the music video for “The Glamour” by The Streets. However, her first major role came as Effy Stonem in Skins on Channel 4 (UK).
