For one, I believe that this is the only time these three legendary actors have been in the same movie. A bit surprising for such a high-profile trio, but there you go. It’s also a really nice snapshot of these men at different points in their careers. Fonda was in the twilight of his career by this point, but still capable of turning out great work (I don’t think he ever made a truly bad movie). Brando was just getting his groove back after about a decade of not doing very much at all. And Pacino was just starting to become the force of nature we now remember him as.
So yeah, there’s some pretty epic acting talent on display here. Unfortunately they’re let down a little by the script and direction, which are perfectly serviceable but not stellar or anything.
Although Marlon Brando and Al Pacino have acted together in The Godfather, it is not their only collaboration. They also teamed up in the 1995 crime-drama film ‘Donnie Brasco’. In the movie, Pacino plays a mobster named Lefty Ruggiero whereas Brando plays a crime boss named Sonny Black.
Although Henry Fonda has never acted with Brando and Pacino in the same film, he did play alongside them in different films. He played a detective named Lieutenant Thomas Doyle in the 1958 crime-drama ‘Crime of Passion’ where he was on the hunt for a killer played by none other than Marlon Brando.
Fonda also starred alongside Al Pacino in the 1995 comedy-drama ‘Hoffa’, where he played Jimmy Hoffa’s father.

While the Godfather and The Godfather: Part II are still regarded as some of the greatest films ever made, there is one other movie that features all three of the actors that is often left out of the conversation.
That film, which was directed by Sidney Lumet, was released in 1974 and is known as The Conversation.
The movie starred Gene Hackman as surveillance expert Harry Caul and featured supporting performances from Harrison Ford and Robert Duvall.
In addition to starring in The Conversation, which actually won the Palme d’Or at Cannes Film Festival, Coppola also wrote the script for the movie.
Actor Robert Duvall played Tom Hagen in both Godfather movies and was nominated for an Oscar for his performance in The Godfather: Part II.
Brando made two appearances on screen as Don Vito Corleone in The Godfather: Part II and Pacino starred in both of those films along with Godfather: Part III.
