An article about the season 8 characters in Game of Thrones including Sansa Stark, Tyrion Lannister, and Arya Stark. It provides details about their actions in the show, their character development and how they are depicted in the next season. It also provides a bit of information about the actors behind these characters.

Season 8 of Game of Thrones is nearly upon us, and the final six episodes are shaping up to be a heartbreaking and action-packed period for our favorite characters. In the first episode, we quickly see Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) trying to get Cersei to help with the impending battle against the Army of the Dead, only to be rebuffed.

Meanwhile, Arya (Maisie Williams) is in Winterfell training with a group of soldiers and preparing for war. Sansa (Sophie Turner), who is now Lady of Winterfell, is overseeing the preparations for war as well. She has clearly come a long way from being a scared girl in King’s Landing; however, she does have her hands full with her sister and her husband.

In the final season of Game of Thrones, Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen and the rest of the remaining characters in Westeros have to band together to fight the Night King and his army. It will be a difficult task. And while the show has focused on these heroes, we’ve gotten less screen time with some of the other major players, like Sansa Stark.

Thanks to Entertainment Weekly however, we’ve learned what Sansa is up to in Season 8 thanks to Sophie Turner who plays her. EW’s James Hibberd sat down with Turner and some of her co-stars for an interview that took place at Winterfell in Northern Ireland. Turner talked about Sansa’s current position as Lady of Winterfell and how she views her new responsibilities. “She really looks up to Daenerys,” Turner explains. “She sees a lot of herself in Dany — she admires her strengths, but she also sees her weaknesses. She knows that she can learn a lot from her but she doesn’t want to be like her because she’s seen what it’s done to Jon.”

Turner goes on to say that Sansa has grown in confidence as a leader since becoming Lady of Winter

It’s been a long time coming, and with Game of Thrones deep into its final season, the show’s stars are opening up about the journey they’ve taken over the past decade. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Maisie Williams (Arya) and Sophie Turner (Sansa) dug into their characters’ arcs, what they’re doing in Season 8, and the bittersweet feeling of seeing it all come to an end.

Williams described Arya as “intensely happy” – for now. “She has that list to work through [and] she might get a chance to do that this season. But she also has a family again — well, half of a family — so things are looking up for Arya. She’s kind of enjoying herself for once, just living in the moment. She still feels like she has a purpose; it’s just not a violent purpose anymore. I think it might be the first time we see Arya happy and carefree since Season 1 or 2. It’s good to see her enjoying herself at this point in her life.”

First up is Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) who has spent the last season as Lady of Winterfell and Queen in the North. Sansa is currently preparing for an epic battle against Daenerys and Cersei, having been left by Jon Snow (Kit Harington) to take care of things in the North while he goes down to Winterfell.

The actress recently spoke to The New York Times about the final season, revealing that she had no idea what was going to happen when she read the script for the first time. This isn’t unusual for Game Of Thrones actors, who often get their scripts a day or two before filming their scenes, but it was one particular moment that caught her off guard. It’s not clear what that moment was, though many fans suspect it has something to do with Jon’s true identity being revealed at some point in this season – a secret Sansa found out at the end of season seven.

“I got to the [REDACTED] and I was like ‘[REDACTED]?! You’re kidding me!’” Turner told The New York Times. “I genuinely thought it was a joke script and that [the showrunners were] tricking me because there’s no way. [

In the Game of Thrones Season 8 premiere, Sansa Stark and Tyrion Lannister were reunited. As the two familiar faces caught up, they made an interesting discovery: each is now in a position of authority in the North. One of them has a lot more experience than the other.

After running away to King’s Landing and marrying Tyrion, Sansa returned home to Winterfell. There, she found her sister Arya with Gendry and learned that Jon has left Winterfell in order to join Daenerys’ side in her battle against Cersei. Sansa was not pleased with Jon’s decision and said as much to their brother Bran when he informed her of his warging abilities.

Sansa was also concerned about the army that walks among their ranks: the Night King. She asked Bran if he’d seen anything about Cersei’s plans but he hadn’t so far. He did mention that he saw Jon and Daenerys together and that they looked happy.
