Jim’s dance moves. When Jim gets his groove on, everyone else starts dancing too. It’s fun to watch and it brings people together in ways that other activities can’t. I enjoy watching my coworkers get in touch with their inner child.

Jim’s loyalty. Jim is loyal to his friends and coworkers. He will do anything for them, from putting up with Dwight’s weird behavior to helping Michael get out of jams. It makes me want to be a better friend and coworker.

I know, I know. Most of you do not work in an office, so you probably don’t know who Jim Halpert is. Well, I am sorry that you don’t know him. He is the office prankster from the hilarious show “The Office” on NBC.

While Jim Halpert’s pranks on Dwight Schrute are legendary, he has also taught us some valuable lessons about how fun can be brought into the office. Here are five ways Jim has made his workspace a more enjoyable place to be:

The Office is a great show. Everyone can find a character on the show that they relate to and truly enjoy watching. One of my favorite things in this show, however, is the role of “prankster” as played by Jim Halpert (John Krasinski). Jim regularly makes his time at work more enjoyable through pranks he plays on his co-workers, most often Dwight Schrute (Rainn Wilson). These pranks are done with the intent of making everyone around him laugh, mostly at Dwight’s expense. In addition to providing amusement to himself and those around him, there are several things that Jim does in this role that succeed in making his workplace a fun place to be.

1) Jim does not use his pranks as a way to bully or harass anyone around him. He knows where the line is between funny and mean, and stays far away from that line.

2) Rather than use his pranks to demean others, Jim uses them as a way to connect with others; especially when he first began working at Dunder Mifflin Scranton, he spent much of his time trying to get close with Pam Beesly (Jenna Fischer).
