The Act Academy is excited to officially announce the “Final Act: The College Theater Showcase”. This showcase will give students an opportunity to perform in front of theater professionals from around the country. It will also offer college reps a chance to see what ACT Academy students have to offer! If you are interested in participating, please email your resume and headshot to auditions@actacademy.com
The “Final Act” will be held on Sunday, May 31st at 3:00pm at the ACT Academy (7890 E. Summit Place, Denver, CO 80237). The showcase will last approximately one hour and each student will be given two minutes maximum to perform.
Students must provide their own accompaniment CD or mp3 tracks for their performance. There is no limit on what song(s) can be performed, but keep in mind that this is a college audition so songs should be appropriate for any college audition.
We encourage students who are serious about pursuing theater in college to participate in this event!
Final Act is a blog written by students, recent graduates and alumni at the American College of the Theater. It is a place for the ACT community to share their work and knowledge with aspiring theater artists.
We created Final Act because we felt that the ACT community needs a space to showcase student work and talents. We want to provide an outlet for students who want to contribute something of value to the school with their talents. We also want to help other aspiring theater artists gain insight into college life as well as tips on how to be successful in their craft.
We hope you will take advantage of all that this blog has to offer. Take a look around and see what inspires you!
The final weeks of school are finally here! We’re sure you’ve been working hard to perfect your routine, and now it’s time to show it off!
We’re proud to present The College Theater Showcase – a new blog on our website. The College Theater Showcase features video clips from the final performances of our students who recently graduated from college. You can see their work, find out where they performed, and see what schools they attended.
Shout-out to our alumni, who went above and beyond this year! Thanks for sharing your talents with us!
The ACT Academy blog is about the Act Academy, a theater training program for college students. The blog has some pictures of various activities, such as the class trip to New York City to see Broadway shows. It also discusses the upcoming College Theater Showcase and how it will be different from past showcases.
The content of the blog is very professional. The information is presented in a way that is clear and provides all information needed by a potential student. It is informative and easy to understand. The tone is friendly but not too personal. It doesn’t focus on one person or one event, but rather on the overall experiences of being at Act Academy and what that entails.
“Final Act” is a series of blog posts about the experiences of students, faculty and staff at the Academy of Dramatic Arts. The posts are written in first person by members of the Academy community. Readers who want to learn more about the Academy are encouraged to explore this site, as well as our Facebook page, Twitter feed and YouTube channel.

Our commitment to serving a diverse student body reflects our belief that theater has the capacity to create a more just and compassionate world. As such we encourage applications from those who have been historically underrepresented in theater and higher education; women, members of racial and ethnic minorities, persons with disabilities and veterans are encouraged to apply for admission.
We’ve reached the end of the ACT Academy journey, Class of 2018.
As we wrap up our final day of classes, we can’t help but look back on the past four years and feel a bit nostalgic. It was a long road that brought us here, from our first day as fresh-faced freshmen to sitting in our dorms in our caps and gowns, remembering every heartbreaking goodbye and exhilarating hello along the way.
We’ve spent countless hours making memories on campus, whether it was during rehearsals for a show or dreaming up new ideas for Touring Company performances. We may not have always seen eye to eye with one another — what family doesn’t have their little squabbles? — but we’re proud to call each other family.
As we move forward into the next chapter of our lives, we hope to take with us some of the lessons that being part of this community has taught us, such as:
1. The importance of supporting each other through times of struggle and joy;
2. The value of taking risks in collaboration;
3. The necessity of healthy communication;
4. The beauty that comes from diversity; and
5. How important it is to be
