Ellen Page is a Canadian actress who can be seen on the big screen, in the indie film scene and on television. She is known for her work in Juno, Inception, and X-Men: The Last Stand.

Page was born February 21, 1987 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She has been acting since the age of 10 and has over 30 credits to her name. At age 16 she became one of Canada’s youngest nominees for an Academy Award when she was nominated for Best Actress for her performance in Juno (2007). She also received several other awards and nominations for the role including a BAFTA nomination.

She married dancer Emma Portner in January 2018 and came out as a lesbian at age 26 during a speech at the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Time to Thrive Conference.

Page was raised by her mother Martha Phillpotts and father Dennis Page, who are both teachers. Her parents ran an acting school for children that Page attended as well as taking workshops at the Neptune Theatre School. Her mother was also an actor who worked under the stage name Sara Stanley and had appeared on Road to Avonlea with Page’s older half-brother, Marcus Hewitt.
