Welcome to the beginning of your journey…
As you know, the film industry is a tough business. It is very rare to “make it” in this business. The key to being successful as an actor is to first KNOW that you can be successful, then BELIEVE that you will be successful, and lastly MAKE IT HAPPEN!
Step 1: Know that you can do it!
Regardless of how many knock backs you have had in your life so far, or how many times you have been told “No” by agents, casting directors or producers – YOU CAN DO THIS! You are special and you deserve to be an actor. You have a unique look which no one else has, and a unique talent which no one else can replicate. All the great actors started off with the same feelings and thoughts as you. They started off with a strong desire to make their dreams come true.
Step 2: Believe it will happen!
The first thing that you must do on your journey to becoming an actor is believe that it will happen. This is called self-belief or self-confidence. Self-belief/confidence is an inner feeling of certainty about your abilities and about your prospects for success â regardless of what may happen in the

The Canadian film industry has been in trouble for a long time and is only now starting to make a comeback.
There are many problems with the Canadian film industry including lack of funding, lack of government support, lack of quality scripts, poor marketing, high taxes, and many other things.
One major problem is that there are very few high quality scripts being written by our screenwriters. Screenwriters need to be paid more because they have some of the most difficult jobs in the film industry and they are constantly underpaid and unrecognized for their work.
A lot of Canadian films are never even seen by Canadians because they simply aren’t promoted enough. This means that most Canadians don’t know about many of them and therefore don’t go see them.
The government could do more to help the Canadian film industry but it chooses not to because it’s not as profitable as other industries such as oil and gas or forestry which generate billions of dollars every year for Canada.
A major problem is that Canadian movies have very little funding from investors and producers who prefer American movies over any other kind because they are more profitable than local productions.”
