Celebrities And Plastic Surgery – An Unhealthy Obsession?

In the world of celebrities, beauty is a prerequisite. The quest to achieve beauty has led to many plastic surgeries. There are many examples of celebrities that have had plastic surgery and the results are far from satisfactory. The following list will show you what some of the popular Hollywood celebrities looked like before and after their surgeries.

The most famous Hollywood actress and singer Jennifer Lopez has admitted to having plastic surgery on her backside. She said she had liposuction on her thighs, hips and buttocks to get rid of excess fat. However, the surgery did not go as planned and she was left with dimples on her backside which is popularly known as cottage cheese skin or orange peel syndrome.

Celebrity plastic surgery has become so rampant that it is no longer causing a stir. Aesthetic surgeon Dr. Anthony Youn has called the situation a medical crisis, in which famous Hollywood actors and actresses have set a very bad example of what plastic surgery can do.

In an interview with RadarOnline, Youn said that the increase in celebrity plastic surgery has led to an increase in bad plastic surgeries for ordinary people. He noted two such examples: Jennifer Grey and Mickey Rourke.

Jennifer Grey had a nose job before the movie Dirty Dancing became popular, and she did not look good after surgery. Mickey Rourke is another example of bad plastic surgery. He admitted to having operations on his face done by doctors who did not know what they were doing.

Youn said that these two examples and many others should serve as cautionary tales to celebrities and ordinary people alike when it comes to plastic surgery and its results. He also added that because of celebrity plastic surgery and its bad results, some people are starting to think that all cosmetic procedures lead to disastrous consequences.

When the media first started discussing celebrity plastic surgery, it was a fun thing to talk about among friends. We had no idea that in 2014, the pursuit of perfection would reach such extremes that it would become a global menace.

Some of Hollywood’s biggest stars have undergone so many procedures that they can barely be recognized these days. Take, for example, Donatella Versace, who has had numerous facelifts and nose jobs over the past 20 years, leaving her with a cat-like appearance. Or Jocelyn Wildenstein, who has spent over $4 million on plastic surgery to make herself look like a cat. She is now known as “Catwoman” and her face is so distorted that she cannot eat properly.

Or what about Michael Jackson? He spent over three decades trying to turn himself into something he wasn’t. In 2009, he finally admitted that he had undergone so many surgeries that he could no longer breathe without medical assistance. Sadly though, it was too late for him and he died later that year from cardiac arrest related to his addiction to drugs and plastic surgery.

These are just three examples out of hundreds if not thousands of people who have suffered due to their addiction to cosmetic surgery. The question is:

The stars of Hollywood have always been held up as the epitome of beauty, but recent trends show that the public has a stronger desire than ever to look like these celebrities. Plastic surgeons report a sharp increase in the number of patients who have specific celebrity features they want to emulate, and many of these requests are not supported by medical professionals.

Celebrities are often known for one particular feature; Angelina Jolie is praised for her full lips, and Jennifer Anniston is lauded for her radiant skin. The issue arises when people begin to ask for specific plastic surgery procedures in order to copy these features, without considering how those features fit into their own faces.

According to Dr. David Cangello, a plastic surgeon based in New York City, “People see these celebrity features and assume that they will look good on them as well. But they don’t take into account other factors, like bone structure. If you have a round face and you try to get cheek implants similar to what Angelina Jolie has, it can end up looking very unnatural.”

Many plastic surgeons refuse to perform such surgeries because they know the results will not be what the patient expects.

“It’s better for all parties if we can just say no,” says Dr. C

In recent years, celebrities have been the main focus of attention when it comes to plastic surgery.

The media has picked up on rumors and facts and the public can’t get enough. The main celebrity that is under the knife right now is actress, Renee Zellweger. While she has been very vocal about her past surgeries, her latest surgery has left her unrecognizable. She was seen as a natural beauty before and now she is a shell of what she once was.

Another celebrity that has had repeated surgeries is reality star, Heidi Montag. She had many surgeries done in one day, with some being done to keep her from having other surgeries done in the future. The surgeries made her look completely different and recently she has been doing interviews about how she regrets having so many surgeries at one time.

A famous actor, who is always in the spotlight, is Mickey Rourke. His face looks like what it did 20 years ago but it isn’t his real face anymore. He has received a lot of criticism for his surgeries but he doesn’t care what other people think, he just wanted to look good again.

Hollywood is a place where they’ll pay you a thousand dollars for a kiss and fifty cents for your soul. I know, because I turned down the first offer often enough and held out for the fifty cents.

– Marilyn Monroe

As one of the most famous women in American history, it is no surprise that people are still obsessed with analyzing Marilyn Monroe’s life, even 40 years after her death. While her popularity has never waned since she burst onto the scene as “the girl” in some of Coca-Cola’s earliest television commercials, her image has changed from one of an unrefined young beauty to an object of ridicule.

In the last decade there have been numerous books and articles about Monroe that have focused on pointing out plastic surgery procedures she had done. The number of procedures cited ranges anywhere from two to twenty-seven, depending on who you ask. However, it seems that most people agree on a few basics: she had her nose done fairly early in her career and she had at least one breast augmentation later in life. It is this breast augmentation that sparks so much controversy today.

Marilyn Monroe was not known by any other name during her lifetime but Norma Jeane Baker up
