Father’s day is one of the biggest celebrations for all the children around the world. It is a special day to thank your father for his love, hard work and sacrifices he made for you. The day has been celebrated with great enthusiasm ever since it was instituted in 1910 in Spokane, Washington by Sonora Smart Dodd, who was inspired by the Mother’s day celebration.
The first Father’s day was celebrated on June 19, 1910 and it was celebrated on the third Sunday in June ever since. In 1966 President Johnson declared that the third Sunday in June would be observed as Father’s day every year. In 1972 President Richard Nixon signed the public law that declared that Father’s Day would be a permanent national holiday to be celebrated on third Sunday of June every year.
For most people, watching movies with their fathers are a fond memory to cherish throughout their lives. That is why many children gift their fathers some of the best fatherly movies they have watched together as kids and bond over some quality time.
