3. Julia Roberts, married thrice and divorced twice (the other marriage ended in death). Ex-husband Lyle Lovett died from an illness and fourth husband died from a mystery illness with unknown cause.

4. Angelina Jolie, actress known for her roles in action movies. She has been married twice and is currently single. Her first husband Billy Bob Thornton disappeared under mysterious circumstances and the second (Brad Pitt) died from an unknown illness while she was on vacation with him in France.

I’ve been fascinated with black widows since I was a child.

My father would always read me the story of how the black widow got its name. The female of the species would kill her mate after mating and eat him so she could have all his resources for herself and her children.

My mother also liked to tell me tales of female black widows who were homicidal killers, who would wait until their husbands were asleep then poison them with arsenic or slip a pillow over their faces and hold it there until they died.

And then there was the story of Lizzie Borden, who in August 1892, took an ax and murdered her father and stepmother in their home in Fall River, Massachusetts. Lizzie was acquitted at trial, but most people believe she committed the murders. Oh, what a fascinating story!

In my teen years I became fascinated with famous murderers like Charles Manson, John Wayne Gacy, Ed Gein, Ted Bundy, Aileen Wuornos, Jane Toppan and more recently Jodi Arias. And while I do think they are interesting (I was even part of a team that spent years researching and writing about one of them), I’ve always been more drawn to those women who
