This blog is a place to learn about actors who are best known for their roles as superheroes, villains and movie stars. We focus on the actors who we can look up to as inspirational figures in our lives.

Idris Elba – Luther

Idris Elba is an English actor, producer, musician, and DJ known for playing drug trafficker Stringer Bell on the HBO series The Wire, DCI John Luther on the BBC One series Luther and Nelson Mandela in the biographical film Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom (2013). He has been nominated four times for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Miniseries or Television Film, winning one and was nominated five times for a Primetime Emmy Award.

Elba started his career as a DJ under the moniker DJ Big Driis/Big Driis the Londoner, and as an MC for the hip hop group Pay As U Go. His first acting role was in Crimewatch murder reconstructions. He later joined the National Youth Music Theatre and landed his first significant role on a series called Bramwell, a medical drama set in 1890s England. He played a central character in an episode of Season 1 of Silent Witness (1996) titled “The Red Hand Gang,” which was originally broadcast in October 1996

Hollywood is a highly competitive environment, with lots of actors vying to become the next big star. Some actors make it and others don’t. But there are some actors who make it and remain independent. These are the actors we can look up to.

Idris Elba is an actor that people can look up to because he has been in many famous movies and TV shows. He is a hardworking actor that never gives up on his dreams of being one of the best actors in the world.

Idris was born on September 6th, 1972 in London, England. He was born to a Sierra Leonean mother, Eve Elba and a Ghanaian father Winston Elba. He grew up in Hackney, London.

He is fluent in many languages including English, Swahili and Spanish. At the age of 14 he joined the National Youth Music Theatre where he played different roles such as Romeo and Macbeth.

He studied criminology at Canning Town, London and worked for a time at Ford Dagenham factory. He later dropped out to pursue his career as an actor. In 1995 he was offered his first professional role in a stage production of “Romeo and Juliet”.

Actors are a dime a dozen. Everyday we see them on our TV screens and cinema screens, but there is just something about some of them that makes us look up to them. It could be the way they portray their roles, or they way they carry themselves in public. Whatever it is, this blog is dedicated to those actors who inspire all of us.

Actors are people who believe in the power of make believe. They are those who have made life look easy and fun. Their sense of humour and ability to act almost any role on the screen is what makes them stand out from the rest. There is a lot we can learn from these actors and their lives.

I have found myself inspired by some of my favourite actors. That’s why I decided to start this blog to share with you some of their stories, advice and life lessons.

Elba has received numerous awards and nominations for his work, including a Golden Globe Award win and a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination; Time named him one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2016. He began his acting career by playing roles in a series of television series, including Crimewatch murder reconstructions. He had his first major role in the soap opera Family Affairs (1997–1998), and continued with minor roles until he was cast as Russell “Stringer” Bell in the HBO series The Wire (2002–2004). Elba appeared on the BBC television miniseries Ultraviolet (1998) and played a supporting role in Belle (2013).

Elba has also worked in other media. In 2007, he voiced Chief Bogo in Zootopia, Shere Khan in The Jungle Book (2016) and played Heimdall in Thor (2011), its sequels Thor: The Dark World (2013) and Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), as well as the television series Loki (2021). Elba portrayed Stacker Pentecost in Pacific Rim (2013), Nelson Mandela in Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom (2013), and James Bond villain Krall in Star Trek Beyond (2016). In 2019, he starred as Charlie Hicks

When you think of Elba, you think of a man who is a jack of all trades. He has worked as a DJ, been an actor since the age of seventeen, and even went to the National Youth Music Theatre for his training. He has played a number of roles in TV shows and films like “Luther”, “The Wire”, and “Prometheus”. He even voiced the role of Shere Khan in the 2016 film adaptation of “The Jungle Book”.

He was also involved in music with his own album called “High Class Problems Vol 1”. He also has been doing production work under the name Big Driis.

Elba recently made the news when he was named as the top person on GQ’s list of Most Stylish Men in Britain. This was not the first time that he was listed as one of the most stylish men, but it was a big deal when it happened this time.
