All actors have a voice; however, not all actors have been trained to use it. In this blog you will find information on the best acting techniques in the industry as well as tips and a Q&A section.

The main focus of this blog is to provide information on how actors can find their voice while addressing vocal concerns. The goal is to help transform an actor’s voice from the average to a more professional sounding one. This will help them get more callbacks and book more gigs!

Actors have a passion for their craft and the art of acting. Actors are fun and creative people. Actors work hard, they learn the business, they get trained and they go on auditions.

Actors always want to get better at their craft. Actors are great storytellers and can find the truth in almost any scene or character they play.

Actors are often thought of as arrogant and self absorbed but in reality most actors struggle with many things that non actors don’t understand.

This blog is for all actors to share opinions, thoughts and concerns about the acting business. It also hopefully will educate actors about what it takes to become a successful actor and not just an actor who does a lot of acting classes but doesn’t get results.

I am an acting coach for actors who want to be successful in this business. I offer training that is designed to help actors find their voice while addressing voice over concerns. My goal is to help the actor feel confident in auditions and on set.

You want to shift into a more active, confident, and calm state of mind where you can connect with the other person in a positive way. Actors are natural communicators that have been trained to adapt and overcome obstacles in order to get the message across.

My partner and I were given the script for an Oreo cookie commercial. We both felt our reading went well until the teacher told us that we would not get the job because we sounded too old. When I told my parents this story, they were shocked that she would crush my spirits like that when she knew how young I was.

I had a similar experience in college when I auditioned for a Broadway play for our theatre department’s festival. The director told me that my singing voice was beautiful but the character had to be sexy and I didn’t come across as “sexy.” At the time, I believed him, but now I know that he was trying to protect me from rejection by telling me why he didn’t cast me in the role.

I have heard so many stories like this from actors over the years. At first, they are hurt and confused by these comments until they realize they don’t fit with their own self-image. If you are an actor who has ever been told you sound too young or too old or not “sexy” enough–you are not
