Charlie Bucket was born on August 29th 1968 in London, England. He is the best known character from Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. His parents were Mr and Mrs Bucket and his four grandparents were Grandpa Joe, Grandma Josephine, Grandpa George and Grandma Georgina. Charlie is a very poor young boy who lives with his parents and grandparents in a tiny house. They are so poor that they can only afford one bed to share between them all. At bedtime, they take it in turns to sleep in it. Charlie’s father works at a toothpaste factory where he has worked for twenty-two years without getting promoted or even having a pay rise. After filming ended, his parents decided that they didn’t want him to pursue acting as a career, so Peter went back to school and became a veterinarian surgeon instead. He graduated from Cornell University with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. He currently owns and runs his own veterinary clinic in Lowville, New York.
