6 Things That Are More Difficult Than Acting, According to Young Actors (video): Blog about what young actors wish people realizes about their job.

Actors usually get a bad rep. They are often seen as lazy and unmotivated, but there is more to the job than just memorizing lines and showing up on set to film. We put together a list of some of the things that are more difficult than acting, and we asked our favorite young actors to tell us about it. Check out the video below!

1. School

2. Sports

3. Getting something you want from your parents

4. Math homework

5. Making friends

6. Learning new things

Most of the time, when we see young actors on screen, theyโ€™re precocious little darlings in period costumes or spunky teens in dystopian futures.

Weโ€™ve decided to put together a list of six things that are more difficult than acting, according to young actors.

1. Being short

2. Having curly hair

3. Waking up early for school

4. Eating healthy all the time

5. Doing homework on set

6. Getting enough sleep

If you’re an actor, you’ve definitely heard one of these things before: Acting is such a fun job! You must love acting so much! It’s so great that you get to act for a living!

We hear it almost every day, and while we are very appreciative of people’s excitement about our chosen profession, there are a few things that we wish people knew about acting before they started making comments or assumptions.

For starters, here are six things that are more difficult than acting according to young actors:

1. Being a doctor

2. Going to jail

3. Being president of the United States

4. Playing football (like you’re in the NFL)

5. Being a senator

6. Doing math (like calculus)

What do you think about when you hear the word “actor”? Is it the glamour and fame that come with it? Or is it the patience and humility required to audition for a role and then wait for a callback that might never come? In this video, young actors explain what they think people don’t understand about their work.

1. Getting an agent is hard.

2. Finding a job can be harder than doing it.

3. You spend a lot of time waiting around.

4. You have to be okay with rejection.

5. It’s hard to stay positive when you’re unemployed.

6. It’s not always fun.

The hardest thing about acting is being an actorโ€”at least, according to the young stars of movies like “Bridget Jones’s Baby” and “The Edge of Seventeen.”

“I get recognized and I also get people asking me for pictures,” said Kate McKinnon, 33, who won a supporting actress Emmy for her work on “Saturday Night Live.”

“It’s a tricky thing,” McKinnon said. “It takes you out of your real life.”

McKinnon said she has had strangers come up to her in public and ask if she is the woman from TV.

“I think that they are expecting some sort of performance, but I’m just trying to buy groceries,” she said.

When you hear the word “actor,” what do you think of? Charismatic people who are constantly in the spotlight, always surrounded by fans and paparazzi? It’s true that actors get to live those glamorous lives, but there’s a lot more to being an actor than just being famous.

For starters, it doesn’t happen overnight. Actors have to go through a lot before they get their big breakโ€”and even when they do, circumstances don’t always work out as planned. For example, did you know that about 70% of all SAG-AFTRA members earn less than $1,000 per year from their work as actors? And only 2% make over $100,000. Doesn’t sound so glamorous now, huh?

In this video from Resource Magazine, young actors have a chance to open up and share some of the difficulties they face that no one knows about. Check it out:
