Five Reasons Why Actors Should Be On Twitter

1. YOU ARE YOUR OWN BRAND
In today’s world of social media, we are our own brands. We must represent who we are online in the same way that we do in person. Twitter allows you to do just that: you can be funny and entertaining, but also serious and informative. Twitter is a great way to show your personality and share your interests with the world.
2. IT’S A GREAT MARKETING TOOL
Twitter is a great tool for marketing yourself as an actor and for promoting others’ work. You can tweet about your upcoming projects or about new work that you are doing. You can also help promote others’ work by retweeting their tweets or using hashtags such as
My Twitter account has become my go-to form of communication with my friends and family. It’s also how I stay connected to work, news, world events and all the people in the world that I want to keep up with.
For actors, Twitter is a great way to connect with fans, fellow actors and industry professionals. Twitter can be used as a vehicle to promote yourself and your work or as a tool for networking. Here are five reasons why actors should be on Twitter:
1. Follow industry professionals and casting directors.
2. Promote upcoming projects, shows and appearances.
3. Connect with fans, peers and students in the community.
4. Network! A lot of casting takes place on Twitter now so make sure you have an active account so you don’t miss out on any opportunities.
5. Be inspired! Follow inspiring accounts like @CoffeeAndQuotes for inspiration daily that will get you through the day or @TEDTalks to feed your brain with ideas worth spreading from some of the most brilliant minds who ever lived!
I’ve been on Twitter for a while and it’s been so good for me as an actor. I love it, and I love talking to other actors and reading their blogs. So here is my blog on why I think actors should be on Twitter:
1. It’s Fun – Twitter is a lot of fun, it’s a great way to meet new people and get your thoughts out there. It’s like mini-blogging in 140 characters or less. And sometimes it’s really fun just to have a conversation with people you might never have met otherwise.
2. It’s Great for Networking – You never know who might see your tweet and decide to contact you about an audition or part in a film/tv show/web series/etc… I’ve met some really great people through Twitter and had some great conversations that wouldn’t have happened otherwise. And once you help someone out, they will remember you and hopefully pay it forward by helping you out when they can.
3. It Can Help Your Career – If you’re just starting out on Twitter, don’t expect it to be this huge platform where you’ll suddenly get thousands of followers right away (unless of course you’re already famous). The key is to make friends and engage
1. Networking
This is the most obvious reason for actors to be on Twitter.
As an actor you should be networking with other actors, directors, casting directors, producers, and more. Why wouldn’t you network with people who can help you get work?
With Twitter you have the ability to connect with people in all areas of the industry. You can connect with actors, agents, casting directors and many more people in one place.
This will make it easy for you to stay in touch with them and even build a relationship with them!
2. Get Work
Yes it is true that Twitter is a way for you to get work as an actor. There are so many opportunities that come from Twitter that it is ridiculous not to use it.
I have found jobs through Twitter, I have heard of others getting auditions and even getting jobs through Twitter. It just depends on how much effort you put into it!
I haven’t gotten work from every person I connected with on Twitter but there have been some very beneficial connections made because of this social networking site!
3. Learn about the Industry
With all the great people involved in the entertainment business you can learn so much from them by just reading their posts! They post links to articles that
1. If you are an actor, and especially if you are an actor who is trying to get noticed and make a name for yourself in the business, then you should be using Twitter.
2. If you look at the most successful actors in Hollywood today, they all have one thing in common: They use Twitter. These actors are using Twitter to promote themselves by giving their fans a glimpse into their lives and connecting with them on a daily basis.
3. The more people you connect with on Twitter, the better your chances of getting noticed and attracting new followers who can help your career in many ways. For example, if someone is looking for an actor to star in their movie or TV show, then they will likely search through Twitter to find people who fit the role perfectly and would love to work with them!
4. It’s also important for actors to be active on social media because it allows them to connect with other actors/actresses, directors, producers, writers etc… all over the world! This way when someone needs something from someone else (e.g., an actor needs a director) there is already some sort of relationship built up between them so it won’t feel like just another
1. Get jobs.
2. Find out about auditions.
3. Make friends.
4. Get jobs because the people who are casting the roles are on twitter and they can see how you interact with people and what you have to say. This can make a big difference. Even if you have never met someone before, if they know you from twitter and like what you have said then they may be more likely to cast you than someone else who has not been on there or interacted with them before.
5. Get up-to-date news on the entertainment industry, auditions, projects, etc…
1. It’s a great way to connect with your fans.
2. It’s a great way to connect with other actors in the community.
3. It’s a great way to learn about the industry as it is happening.
4. It’s a great way to gain some amazing contacts within the industry.
5. It’s a great way to keep up with your favorite TV shows!
