30 Black Actors You Should Know is a blog about popular black actors in the industry and other relevant information. The blog was created to help people learn more about black actors and their roles in movies, television, and other areas of entertainment. It has some great photos of the actors and provides links to more detailed information.
The blog’s name comes from a quote by Billy Dee Williams, a well-known African-American actor: “I’m very proud of being black because it’s something I can’t change. My mother was white and my father was black, so I am mixed. I’ve lived with that for most of my life.”
This blog is for anyone who wants to know more about black actors or who simply enjoys reading about them. But it’s especially useful for those who want to learn more about African-American culture through its famous people.
It was started in 2013 by David Noel Freedman, an African-American writer who lives in New York City and has written for many publications including The New York Times Magazine, Esquire, Rolling Stone, GQ, Vanity Fair, Time Out New York, The Wall Street Journal, NPR’s Fresh Air with Terry Gross, The Washington Post and Slate.
This blog is dedicated to posting information about the most popular black actors in the industry. We will also post other relevant information that might be useful.
30 Black Actors You Should Know is a blog created by Kevin Jackson to report news, entertainment and other information about black actors in the industry.
Black Actors You Should Know (BAYK) is a blog that features the most popular black actors in the industry today. Our goal is to provide you with news and information about what these actors are up to, including upcoming projects, awards, and achievements. BAYK also features information and articles about other relevant issues in the film industry.
BAYK was founded by actors Jesse Williams and Jurnee Smollett-Bell after they became frustrated by the lack of roles available for black actors. They created this site to celebrate their fellow actors, as well as raise awareness for diversity issues in the film industry.
The Black List
The following is a list of 30 black actors you should know. Whether you are an aspiring actor, a casting director or just a movie buff, the following actors should be familiar to you. Some of these actors have been around a while and some are up and coming. Regardless, each of these actors has made their mark in the acting world in one way or another. Let us begin with number one:
Every year, the NAACP Image Awards honors the best in film, television and music as seen through a multidimensional lens. The awards show represents the highest honor for people of color in media and honors outstanding individuals that promote social change.
The awards show takes place on Saturday, February 22 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on TV One. It will be hosted by Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross who are both nominated for their respective shows “Black-ish” and “Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce.”
While we look forward to seeing which celebrities receive the top honors, here is a list of 30 Black actors whom you may not know personally but need to know. These talented actors are working hard – starring and co-starring in some of your favorite shows and films. From TV shows like “Empire,” “Power” and “Homeland,” to films like “Selma,” “Divergent” and “Top Five,” these men and women are highly sought after — so it’s important to know their names now before they become A-listers!
We all love seeing a good movie, right? And if the main character is black, then it’s a bonus. Black actors have been making their mark in Hollywood since the 1930s. From Sidney Poitier to Denzel Washington and Halle Berry, they have left a legacy that we will never forget.
Many people of color have gone on to become some of the most popular actors in the industry over the past century. But there are so many others who don’t get quite as much attention as they deserve. These are just a few of those black actors that you might not know but should!
