“The fact is that there are no great actors; there are only great roles.”
1. When memorizing your lines, read them aloud. Read them slow and then fast. This can help you figure out what you want to do with the lines and how they sound, in turn giving you a deeper understanding of the character.
2. While memorizing your lines, pick out words that stand out to you and write down why that is for each word to help you form a connection with the character. This will help you get into character better and have a more clear idea of who this person is and why they are saying these things.
3. Let the director do their job! Directors will always have an image in their minds as to how they want their show to be portrayed; it is your job to make that happen.
4. You are never too old or too young to continue perfecting your craft! Actors are constantly learning new things about themselves and there is always room for improvement! In order to grow as an actor, it is important to learn from criticism, but also learn from other actors’ mistakes because there will be times when mistakes will not be caught by anyone else but yourself.
5. Make sure to know your lines 100% before going into rehearsal; this allows for the time spent in rehearsal to focus on blocking,
1. If you are not willing to risk the unusual, you will have to settle for the ordinary.
2. Nothing will ever be attempted if all possible objections must first be overcome.
3. Follow your dreams, believe in yourself and don’t give up.
4. You miss 100 percent of the shots you never take.
5. Be prepared for anything and expect nothing; then whatever comes is a pleasant surprise, not a disappointment.
6. Don’t let negative and toxic people rent space in your head. Raise the rent and kick them out!
7. It’s important to find a group of people who challenge and inspire you, spend a lot of time with them, and it will change your life.
8. A dream is just a dream; a goal is a dream wth a plan and a deadline! Make 2019 your best year yet! What’s your goal? What’s your plan? What’s your deadline?
9. The key to being happy is knowing you have the power to choose what to accept and what to let go! This also applies to people as well! Letting go of negative/toxic people in your life that no longer serve you is key! Life is too

1. Always be ready. This means that you come to every class, rehearsal, and/or performance with all of your lines learned and an open mind. If you do not have the part memorized, then you should not be there.
2. Set up a ritual in which to prepare yourself to go onstage. i.e. make sure you are in your costume and makeup, have your props ready and are in the right place at the right time before the curtain goes up!
3. Stay focused on what is going on around you onstage at all times and respond accordingly!
4. Support others on stage by responding honestly to them and helping them out when needed!
5. Be prepared for anything that might happen onstage! Donβt just rely on the person next to you to cover something up if you forget a line or drop a prop or miss your markβdo it yourself and do it quickly! Make it look like it was supposed to happen that way!
6. Do not ever stop trying to learn from every experience that you haveβpositive or negative!
