He was arrested numerous times after that and eventually went to prison in 1999 for possession of heroin and cocaine while on parole. Robert Downey Jr. was able to make his comeback with the help of Mel Gibson, who paid $1 million dollars of his bail while he was in prison. After taking time off from acting, he slowly began working again around 2004 with roles in A Scanner Darkly (2004), Good Night, and Good Luck (2005), Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2005) and Zodiac (2007). The young actress from England has made a name for herself in some very popular movies and TV shows and become a Hollywood superstar. She is currently starring in ‘Jungle Cruise’ alongside Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt.
But before all of this, she was just a kid growing up with her parents in England. And when she was 12 years old, her life changed forever. Her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer and passed away not long after that when Knightley was only 15 years old.
It’s something that she still thinks about every day and it’s what really keeps her going and reminds her how precious life is.
“I’ve had my mother die of breast cancer, which I think makes you want to live every day as fully as possible,” Knightley said during an interview with Elle magazine. “I am so aware of how important it is to live your life.”
